Conversely, the Canon has a higher color page yield and a lower cost-per-print for color documents and photos, and it produces much higher quality photos. The printer also handled graphics well, delivering nicely saturated, eye-catching color. It did a good job of holding thin lines, retaining even a one-pixel-wide line on a black background. I saw some barely visible hints of banding in dark fills, but had to look carefully to spot them. Photos on the recommended paper were about the same quality you’d get from having photos printed at a drugstore, which is a nice extra for a printer intended primarily for business use.

Printing five pages of black-and-white text took 22 seconds, with a speed of 13.6 ppm. The WorkForce 600 is one of the fastest ink-jet printers out there, producing quality photo printing and scanning. While its copying capabilities are only decent and the overall print quality does not challenge the best ink-jets, it’s still a… For office documents, I found the resulting print quality just as impressive as the WF-4630’s print speeds. Text, charts and diagrams look sharp on prints produced on the WF-4630, and I couldn’t spot the difference between a print from the WF-4630 or from a mid-range laserjet. Although print speeds are admirable, the WF-4630 is only half as fast as the HP Officejet Pro x576dw ($399, £265, AU$510).
Plenty of connectivity options make it easy to print your favorite photos.
