You need to hold the button constantly to blend, which makes it inconvenient to use, especially because it takes several minutes to get the best results. Even then, it makes a grainy blend with many unprocessed bits of kale left over. It’s mostly made of plastic, which doesn’t feel very premium or durable. It doesn’t have any anti-slip pads to help keep it stable while blending.

As a result, I didn’t have incredibly high expectations for the Hamilton Beach. If you don’t have a mixer and want to make whipped cream, a blender is a surprisingly acceptable method. Nut Butters—Last but not least, the Hamilton Beach Blender is also not ideal for making peanut butter. The funnel-like glass jar and the drip spout on top of the lid look a bit awkward.
