Best Ozark Trail Tents for Family Camping

Second, the fabric feels thin, and a few users have reported ripping it during setup, so you’ll need to take your time both setting up and taking down this tent. There’s a lot to love here, but as the Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin is still a budget department store tent, you’ll want to be aware of a few shortcomings. First, although this is an instant tent, the unique layout and integrated awning make setup a little more involved than most. Second, the tall vertical walls and “L” shape make it about as far from aerodynamic as they come. Do NOT phone in the guyline portion of set-up (regardless of the weather) or you’ll risk damaging the tent. Finally, the material of this shelter is noticeably higher quality than many Ozark Trail tents, but the 68D polyester is still not as thick as we’d like.

I have the JW-7607 which is a 2-3 (read that as two) person tent. It has held up to kids camping in the living room and back yard, many camping trips to desert / forest / lake environments and even survived a bear “attack” with only ozark trail tent a small tear. While the weather is still nice, you should consider taking advantage by going camping with friends and family. Spending time outdoors taking in the natural beauty of the world is one of my favorite things to do.

Ozark Trail is all about big family camping tents on a budget, and few are as big and budget-friendly as the Ozark Trail 10 Person Two-Room Cabin. Ozark Trail is what many would consider an “off brand” in the camping world. It’s made more cheaply than competitors like Marmot, Nemo, REI Co-op, and others, since it’s a product line developed by Walmart. However, unlike most off brand tents, the Ozark Trail products are above average quality for a fraction of the price. Certain brands are tailored towards certain camping styles, depending on how many people you want to bring.

It comes loose easily enough but over time this has put lots of little holes in that flap. Ozark Trail is basically Walmart’s house brand, or private brand, and I think the reason Walmart and Coleman are able to keep their prices low is because all these tents are made in either China or Bangladesh. In fact, even though this tent is one of the highest-rated and most popular Ozark Trail tents, it’s still plenty affordable at just over $100. The number of windows and the size of the windows in Ozark Trail Tents is also lacking when compared to Coleman tents.

The one exception to the rule here is for the larger cabin-style tents, especially those with an “instant tent” design that uses pre-attached poles. The tent itself is nice and roomy, and boasts a 6-foot peak height to make changing clothes a drama-free endeavor. The Ozark Trail 9 Person Cabin shares the same shortcomings as the other discount cabins found in the Ozark Trail lineup, most notably being its weather protection and durability.

But rather than having each person bring their own tent, you can save space and money by opting for a larger tent that fits everyone. Right now you can grab an Ozark Trail ten-person ozark cooler tent for just $99, a shockingly low price for something that big. I watched the setup video tutorial and took the tent out of the original packaging before timing my setup.
