The BEST 8 Person Instant Tents 2023 Core vs Coleman vs Ozark Trail

This is a simple and rather effective way to stop rain getting inside your tent. The most familiar brand at Walmart for outdoor gear is the Ozark Trail. So if you are looking for tents for family camping or vacations this is definitely a brand you will want to check out. Coleman is another affordable camping gear brand that also produces a lot of the same style tents as Ozark Trail.

All of the 8 person tents included in this guide are solid choices, and which one will be the best for you depends on your specific needs. If you’re going on a backpacking trip, then size & weight of the tent are very important; in this case, you’ll probably want to get the regular size. There are ozark trail tents a lot of customers saying the pole didn’t last long for the Coleman tents instant 8. The bad news is that there are no replacement parts, so if it breaks you’ll have to get a refund or an exchange. Not ideal if you’re planning to go on a backpacking trip where you carry your tent in your bag.

Cabin tents with vertical walls allow you to get nice and close to the edges of the shelter, making the most of the available floor space. However, something like the Ozark Trail 10 person 3 room tent will force you to get a little more creative, given the sloped ozark trail canopy curves of the walls. My personal favorite Ozark Trail tent is the 12-person, 3-room instant cabin tent. It provides a ton of space in an easy-to-carry package that sets up in minutes AND provides three rooms that give the entire gang loads of space to spread out.

The seams aren’t sealed, and the untreated fabric that makes up the body is prone to soaking through after prolonged exposure. The phrasing that Ozark Trail uses is “water-resistant.” In my experience with the tent, that means in any serious rain, expect to see some moisture leaking through at least the seams. The bottom seam gives water a place to pool up and eventually leak into the tent.

Even though it is so robust, I always recommend using a ground tarp or some sort of barrier to protect your tent long-term. The poles are steel and connected by braided wire, so there’s not much concern with those going off. Guy lines and the sliding plastic adjusters are an area of concern, but so long as you don’t crush them or expose the tent to undue extreme weather, they should hold up. A key factor in any tent, particularly in big group tents such as this, is good ventilation. Condensation is unavoidable, but there are certainly degrees of it and tends to be exacerbated with the more people inside. In perfect conditions, dry with a predictable and steady breeze, you can have the door, the windows, and the rear awning of the tent open completely.

Once it’s set up, you’ll be amazed by just how spacious the cabin tent is—both in terms of sleeping space and headroom. Thanks to the roomy interior and ample headspace, you’ll lounge in style. Thanks to the E-Port, movable hanging media pocket, and hanging organizers, you’ll have access to all your favorite tech and luxuries without ever leaving the tent.

Most of the larger tents are cabin-style, meaning they have walls that are angled straight up. Not only is it the perfect tent, but it includes the 4-person dome tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, 2 foam sleeping pads, 2 chairs, 2 dry bags, 1 lantern and 1 carry-all bag. The tent has an awning over the front entry to create a porch-like atmosphere, and the six large mesh windows allow for plenty of airflow and panoramic views. The included rainfly and factory-sealed seams will keep everyone dry in the event of a rainstorm, and the electrical cord access makes it easy to plug your stuff into the outlets outside the tent. The craziest (and best) thing about this tent is that it requires almost no assembly and can be set up in less than five minutes.

The tent includes a large storage locker with zippered access from both inside and outside the tent, a built-in mud mat, a media pocket, a gear loft, and three 2-section storage pockets. Plus, the center loop allows you to hang a lantern and the E-Port ozark trail wall tent makes it easy to run power to your devices. The hub design makes setting the tent up very quick—you’ll be ready to camp in under 5 minutes! With added perks like no-see-um anti-bug mesh and storage pockets, it’s beautifully convenient and comfortable.

Weighing in at a hearty 15 lbs, chances are you won’t be hiking anywhere with the Ozark Trail 7 Person Teepee. Anywhere with pull-up vehicle access and nearby amenities would be perfect for this style of shelter. The first step is to find a nice flat piece of ground and get all six of the corners staked out.

Thank you OZARK for making camping nights with small children just a little more difficult!!!! Good thing we are all troopers and we didn’t let your HORRIBLE product ruin our trip. Rain fly is too big — it needs one side cut differently to allow to get in and out of the tent. This piece of crap promises the buyer a lot for a lot of money, but what you get is something of lesser quality than if you bought a tent from the local Dollar store. Not the best, but certainly better than other shelters I’ve stayed in.
