You’ll also find the rust-resistant cast-iron grates provide impressive durability. This grill uses the Surefire Electronic Ignition System for reliable one-touch starts every time. The cooking area is about 300 square inches primary and 100 square inches on the warming rack. It’s on the smaller side of grills, so this is to be expected.

The warming rack and main grates are also rust-resistant porcelain coated cast iron for better durability and easy cleanup. The burgers finished within an average of 2 minutes, 49 seconds of one another. On the lid you get a thermometer meaning you can only judge temperature when the lid is closed, but this is usually the case on most grills anyway. The warranty, as mentioned before, is a decent five years for those burners. But it falls down where, on all other parts, you only get a one year warranty. Since warranty length is often a good indicator of longevity for a product, this is something to keep in mind.
Lightweight construction consists of a thin 430 stainless steel lid, control panel, single door and handles and painted steel side shelves and cart on four casters. When combined its neighboring side burner and drying rack, the total cooking area of it comes to 660 square inches. This generally means that the grill comes with a dedicated rotisserie burner; the motor and spit are usually purchased separately.
This model is the smallest grill in Char-Broil’s Performance BBQ line. Available at Tru-Value and other independent retailers it has heat indicators above each stainless steel burner just like Char-Broil’s Commercial grills. There’s no natural gas option on the grill, which is a shame for people who don’t like cooking with propane, but that’s really one of the only downsides to the grill. The storage space may get just a little tight with the propane tank, but I’m sure you’ll be able to manage. What I can’t speak to is how well it will hold up over multiple grilling seasons.
The Char-Broil Performance 2 Burner is an excellent budget-level grill that anybody can use. From novice to experienced, your burgers and hot dogs should come out quickly and taste juicy.
