Before getting a vacuum, there are some things you need to know. As we’ve mentioned, this isn’t Dyson’s first robot vacuum, but it could be the first for the US. The 360 Hyperdymium follows up the previous models, the 360 Eye and 360 Heurist, except it’s flatter and wider. The design of those other models, the Verge explains, made them unsuitable for the typical American household, especially when it came to vacuuming under furniture.
Allowing the vacuum to get under more items of furniture would certainly help with sales. The unnamed robovac comes in the same striking nickel blue color as its predecessor, and has tank treads and a detachable dust bin, just like Dyson’s previous forays into this product category. It also looks like the device (labelled RB03) has the Heurist’s 360-degree camera with LED lighting ring. Those LEDs are important, as they ensure the device can navigate in the dark — handy if you want your robovac to clean when you’re out or asleep.
Luckily, a robot vacuum can help take some weight off your shoulders by automating the cleaning process. It can independently travel around your home and pick up pet hair so you can spend more time with your cats or dogs. A robot vacuum can be helpful if you’re in the middle of seasonal shedding, as you can program it to clean a room several times a day if irobot vacuum cleaner needed. From there we can calculate the percentage of dirt and debris pickup for every run and the average amount of soil a vacuum manages to remove. Additionally, we run anecdotal (visual) pet hair tests for each vacuum, on all three floor types to help us select the best cordless vacuum. We use the same soil types here as well; sand, rice, and pet hair.
It also uses the same spinning side brush that the Roombas are known for to help clean edges and corners. As advancements over the Roomba 690, it has the upgraded dual rubberized brushrolls as well as a full bin indicator. It creates a digital floor plan of your space so you can easily see if the robot is getting hung up somewhere and help eliminate trouble spots. / Sign up for Verge Deals to get deals on products we’ve tested sent to your inbox daily. There’s no guarantee of course that this product will end up in the US, but an FCC filing does obviously suggest that this is Dyson’s current ambition. The live chat button will appear on the bottom right corner of your screen as soon as a Dyson Expert becomes available.
For one that’s set on getting a robot vacuum, this won’t apply. But if you’re still open to vacuuming through handheld means, the V8’s stick design is innovative and very strong. To compare them with Dyson over quantity of products is potentially redundant if you’re sold to the idea of robot vacuums.
The underside reveals a removable and replaceable front brush system and two likely robust and powerful blue wheels. On the right we see the text DUST ANALYTICS, and on the right we see SIDE ACTUATOR. At the back in the removable dust bin we see RADIAL CYCLONE TECHNOLOGY. Dyson and Roomba have great vacuuming machines that are miles ahead of the competition, so you’re in good hands with a model from either brand.
In 1993, he started his own research center in the Cotswolds where he set out to work on a new product – a new vacuum cleaner that would disrupt the vacuum cleaner market. He invented the DC01 (DC stands for “Dual Cyclone”) and it was the first vacuum cleaner to maintain 100% of suction all the time. Today, Dyson is engineering the future, harboring a team of over 1,000 hardworking engineers worldwide. Apart from vacuum cleaners, Dyson also makes air purifiers, humidifiers, hair dryers, hair stylers, and more. When it comes to analysing a robot’s cleaning capabilities, we test each robot using measured spillages of rice and flour. We send the robot to perform a spot clean of each spill on both carpet and hard floor, and measure the amount collected each time.
The Dyson 360 sticks to what people use vacuums for, which is a thorough clean that gets up dirty to the level of a conventional vacuum. The i7 has monitoring sensors that safely maneuver it under most pieces of furniture, chairs, tables, and thick rugs. Another height disadvantage is the Heurist potentially having issues when trying to move on carpets, especially the kind with loose threads. It will vacuum, but again, the battery may drain faster than normal.
