Philips electric shavers

You can trim your beard using one of the attachable guards, which help keep the blade far enough from the skin to only cut the hairs to your desired length. When you’re shaving, the OneBlade goes flat against your skin and can go in either direction. Tilting it to an angle, to where the coated teeth are against your skin, you can sharpen your beard’s edges or carve out a mustache (or even mutton chops). The shaver includes an indicator to let you know when the time comes, and the cutters are usually in the $50 to $60 range.

Lastly, shaving the most sensitive areas of the face first when the shaving head is cool, is recommended in order to avoid any extra shaving irritation. Philips Norelco Shaver 6500 shaving heads are surrounded with ComfortGlide rings, which have special protective coating witk skin gliding properties to shield your face from irritation. MultiFlex philips shaver shaver heads adjust to the angles of your face with 5 independent movements. The entire head pivots and the individual shave heads also flex to maintain skin contact and catch hair in hard to reach areas. MultiPrecision blades raise and cut long hairs, flat-lying hairs and short stubble in just a few strokes for a more comfortable shave.

However, one member of our test panel has been using a 4000-series model for years, and they still love it, even after trying much more expensive models. An electric razor needs break-in time—not for the philips razor razor, but for your face. If you’re switching from a manual to an electric, or even from one electric style to another, generally you’ll need to give your skin two weeks to adjust to the new tool.

The dual foil blades give a quick, close shave whenever and wherever you need it. For me, one of the big selling points of electric shavers is that they’re quicker than shaving with a manual razor. Unlike many of its predecessors, the Philips Norelco 9500’s ComfortGlide rings make circular-motion-shaving virtually friction-free. The shaver includes 72 self-sharpening blades which are guided by its Smart Hair sensor scanning system that adjusts to each hair for a consistently close and comfortable shave. The added bonus is that this razor performs even better in the shower and with shaving cream.

Some of the other razors I tested include more attachments, such as an eyebrow groomer. (I don’t trust myself to get near my eyebrows with a razor.) Most options come with a bikini trimmer for detailing and manicuring body hair—in fact, that might be your primary reason for wanting one of these tools. The Philips razor comes with a 1-inch-wide bikini trimmer to use on its own to completely remove hair or to top with a comb to trim it to 0.125 inches long, something you might prefer if you’re prepping for waxing.

This powerful electric razor is a go-to for barbers looking to finish off a haircut or quickly remove stubble. Its wide, staggered, raised blades allow the Pro-Foil to choose what portion of the blade is needed to remove hair. This is an advantage for more detailed and more gentle hair removal (i.e. maintaining a mustache line or cleaning up the neckline).

Connected models allow to track your routine, and advise you for a shave that’s best for your skin. A lot of shavers promise improvements in user safety, meaning their blades are less likely to irritate or even cut your skin. Philips Norelco, however, went one step further and rounded the teeth on both blades and covered the part you put flat on your face with a Glide coating. The coating also serves as a notice for when you need to replace it. The brand says every four months, but the coating also wears away when it’s time to switch.

Braun recommends replacement every 18 months (the block and foil come as a single unit, running about $30 for the Series 7 and $50 for the Series 9); Philips Norelco and Remington recommend annual replacement. Philips Norelco Shaver 6500 includes electric shaver, click-on beard styler, travel case, SH50 replacement heads, and power cord. The click-on beard styler can help you change your look with 5 length settings. Within a year, your shaver heads cut 4.5 million hairs on your face. The convenient and durable hard travel case is designed to store and protect your shaver whether you are at home or on-the-go.

Disappointingly, the Series 9 does not come equipped with any beard maintenance accessories. And, its precision trimmer isn’t sharp enough to make a huge impact. More troubling than this is the fact that the shaver grows hot, very quickly, when in use.
