I have to say, overall, I was impressed with what a good cooking performance the portable bbq 2200 offers up. Although it has a few limitations that you wouldn’t necessarily find with a whole grill, I did enjoy grilling on it. This portable grill is far from cheap but I would argue that you are investing in the Weber brand and this is certainly worth the extra cash. It isn’t just about the features and how well the grill works – just take a look at the quality of the components. Go hiking in nature with a grill as vibrant as the scenery. Travel on or off the beaten path, camp in the woods or near the shore.
That’s not uncommon with grills but if you’re looking for pinpoint low-and-slow cooking, this might not be the product for you. Once assembled, it was time to give the Weber a go at its most important duty. At 1,300 BTUs, the Weber has a good punch of power for a “portable” grill so I expected some serious heat. The ignitor worked and the grill lit on the first attempt.
It also saves you the hassle of having to purchase a separate thermometer as well. What’s even more impressive than this feature is the fact that it is actually responsive. More often than not, I pushed the fire and the grill roared to life. This can save you a lot of time, particularly when you are trying to grill somewhere outside of your home. It doesn’t matter how many grills I have put together, it is not a process that I relish or look forward to. There are typically too many parts, too many tools required, and a complicated manual waiting to be translated.
The biggest differences between these grills are price, styling, construction and portability. Both of the grills get hot enough for serious searing. Large grilling area so that the entire meal is grilled and ready to eat at the same time. Compact fold takes up minimal space in the garage and fits perfectly in the trunk of your car.
Instead, for heavy cleanings opt for a soft bristle or nylon brush. The grill works on disposable liquid propane cylinders of 14.1 or 16.4 ounces and starts up by just pressing the ignition button. Apart from this, the infinite control valve setting allows you to control the temperature of the grill easily. With large weber genesis 2 control knobs, ergonomic handles, removable catch pans, and sturdy cradles, Q2000 is quite user-friendly. Read on for a hood-to-wheels review of the brand new Weber Traveler portable gas grill. The sturdy handles extend far enough away from the grill body to make it reasonable to pick up and move even while lit.
This grill doesn’t have the much in the way of bells and whistles. That being said, the folding tables and the hood thermometer are more than enough additions to this grill. I also like that there is a built in thermometer – a hood mounted thermometer, in fact. As with most of these, you do have to be wary of them – they tend to be off by a few degrees in either direction. ALL products/items on the website may not be in stock.
