Weber Portable Grill Weber Q Series

Like any gas grill, the Weber Q 2200 needs to be cleaned after each use, but it’s incredibly easy to do. Once the grill cooled down a bit after cooking, I used my wire brush to clean food and grease off the grates. Everything came off the porcelain-enameled cast iron easily, especially because the grates were still a bit warm. The only buttons are its infinite control burner valve—which rotates easily to adjust the gas output—and the electronic ignition, which starts the grill up with a single push. The Q 2200 is powered by liquid propane, and I used disposable 1-pound canisters that were hanging around my basement. Furthermore, Weber designed this grill to handle larger cooking capacity along with being portable.

One of the major selling points of this grill is its two fold-out side tables, which are each 12.5 x 13.5 inches. They’re the perfect spot to place a plate, condiments, and grilling tools, and I used them pretty much every time I grilled. Additionally, Q2200 has a higher lid portable bbq and a larger cookbox for better heat circulation. This is why we have also included this model into our five best tabletop grills list. Furthermore, space is enough to feed a family of four and can accommodate almost eight burgers, five tenderloins, or a rack of ribs on it.

As long as it is hooked up to enough propane gas, it is able to produce a good amount of heat. This model, in particular, does a great job of reaching higher temperatures. I also like the side tables – they are high quality and are perfectly designed to hold food.

A single, U-shaped burner puts out 8,500 BTU to efficiently heat the porcelain-enameled, cast-iron grill surface. Although it tops our list of portable grills, the 31-pound, 3.2 cubic-foot frame of the Q 1200 is best suited to your tailgate, apartment patio, or as part of your RV setup. weber q3200 grill offers the largest cooking space in the whole series. With 393 square inches of cooking space, you can cook much more at the same time. However, its larger capacity increases its dimensions to 55.5 x 50.2 x 30 inches, which reduces its portability. To counter this, the grill comes with an included heavy-duty cart that can help you wheel out the grill from its storage space.

I love Costco for the deals they offer on high quality products. One of the great offers they currently have is a Weber Q2200 gas grill that comes with a portable cart and the propane adapter for use with a 20 pound propane tank. All portable grills, in our experience, struggle to control their internal temperature. Not surprisingly, this grill doesn’t offer the control of full-size grills.

After all, if portability is what you are after, you also want to keep things simple. The pared down design is also great for an easier weber charcoal grill grilling experience, particularly for newbies. The only other element that you have to be fastidious about cleaning is the drip pan.

We use an adapter hose to conncet directly to the propane port on our travel trailer. The heavy duty cast iron grates pre-heat evenly, and are easy to clean. The side tables make good work areas when the grill is in use and fold nicely for storage. We have been impressed how well the igniter works, the easy to clean heating surfaces, and rugged design.

Since then Weber, like many others, has outsourced manufacturing of more product lines. Things change, but we believe Weber’s commitment to quality and innovation has not. The only real difference is that the 2200 is a bit bigger and it has a hood thermometer. However, what I have seen of the 2200 makes it a good investment for you.
