Greenworks PRO 80V Self-Propelled Cordless Lawn Mower, 21-Inch

It doesn’t hurt when that happens, but it is a bit awkward. Notified via a drop list for a couple of 60v Greenworks tools that they had price drops. After you finish checking out the Greenworks Pro tools part of today’s deal, be sure to stick around and check out the other deals we’ve rounded up for you. Right now you can pick up the Sun Joe 16-inch 12A Tiller/Cultivator for $95, a return to the all-time low we’ve seen this year and just in time to prepare your garden. Of course, that extra weight does have its downsides. The mower is a lot more difficult to lift and transport than its plastic cousins, and you have to expend more energy to push it around, too.

There is a self-propelling option onboard the mower to make things a little easier (we’ll talk more about this a little later). You can buy this model at Tractor Supply for $749.99 with a pair of 4.0Ah batteries and a dual-port charger. Both the mower and the batteries are backed by a 4-year warranty. If you like to mow in the early morning or at dusk, the inclusion of LED headlights will make you smile. Arranged as a string of 6-LEDs, this lets you illuminate your cutting path without sacrificing much in the way of runtime. One downside of this design is the lack of a side discharge.

Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire. Non-approved batteries and chargers may cause damage to the mower or injure the operator.

He is now a leading expert on electric lawn tools, quoted in the Washington Post among other publications. Position the blade with the cutting edges toward the ground. Make sure the two posts on the positioner engage the holes on the blades.

Objects struck by the lawnmower blade can cause severe injuries to persons. The lawn should always be carefully examined and cleared of all objects prior to each mowing. Use extreme care when approaching blind corners, doorways, shrubs, trees, or other objects that may obscure your vision of a child or bystander. Keep children, bystanders, helpers, and pets at least 100 feet from the mower while it is in operation.

We have a little over an acre of grass available at the shop. To start our testing, we first leveled the entire lawn at 5 inches using a Cub Cadet Pro Z 560. Next, we set the height of the Greenworks 25-inch lawn mower to 3-inches. We consider this a reasonable maintenance cut—at least for Florida in the summer months.

You may think that, with two blades, you could run the risk of leaving a “mohawk” down the center of your cutting path. In actuality, Greenworks timed their overlapping blades so that nothing gets missed during any single pass. Greenworks’ move to a 0.050-inch chain is significant. With most battery-powered chainsaws still using a 0.043-inch chainsaw, only the more muscular models can handle the larger chain size and tend to have faster cutting with better chain life using it. Bright colors and sleek lines make this leaf blower quite stylish .

In terms of runtime, it varies depending on what you’re cutting, how thick it is, and which battery you use. In our opinion, the 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah battery is the way to go, giving the saw an excellent blend of runtime, balance, and weight. Paired with the 6-amp charger, you should be able to work nearly continuously with a pair of batteries.

Stop the blade when crossing gravel drives, walks, or roads. To help avoid the blade or an injury from thrown objects, stay in the operator zone behind the handles. Before and while moving backward with the mower, look behind and down for small children and other people. Step back from the mower in order to fully extend your arms. Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to the presence of children or bystanders.Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly small children, and pets.

One important note is run-time and having an additional battery. In the process of cutting both trees, it took me 5 battery charges to cut up all the limbs and logs. If you have an additional battery you can charge one while you’re using the other. Cutting with the PRO 60V saw was pretty impressive compared to my prior experiences with lower end battery powered saws. I performed test cuts on larger diameter seasoned tree length wood with the saw buried all the way to the bumper spikes.
