You’ll have plenty of room to cook steaks, burgers, hot dogs, kebabs on more. The E-330 and E-335 series come with a 12,000 BTU side burner, and a sear station with a 9,000 BTU burner. The sear station creates a high heat zone on the grill that’s hotter than other areas of the grill, creating restaurant quality sear marks on your food. The Genesis ll Gas grills also save you valuable storage space with its propane tank storage area, located under the right side shelf. This area conveniently allows you to connect and mount your propane tank underneath the side shelf and features a handy gauge which allows you to monitor your fuel level. As an upgrade the SE-335 comes with an enclosed cabinet with two shelves giving you ample storage, perfect for storing dinnerware and utensils.

Grill companies are starting to get the hang of better searing capabilities, even adding little “sear burners” for the task. Weber’s leaning in that general direction with High+, but the burners are almost six inches from the top of the grill grate, which is simply too far away to get a hard sear. I could get a better, more even sear in my cast-iron pan sitting on the grill’s side burner. I found a sweet spot after a few minutes with half power on the left burner and a trickle in the center, which seemed acceptable considering the wind. I nudged up the heat, trying to get up to a steady 325 degrees on the indirect side, but it needed constant adjustment to get anywhere close to consistent temperature.

Still, the grill isn’t exactly what we’d call portable, as it doesn’t break down to fit into the back of a car for tailgating. A metal rack inside the grill acts as a warming rack, which we found perfect for warming buns for our burgers or to keep sausages warm while we grilled peppers and onions. You will get digital access to reviews and ratings for over 8,500 products and services to help you make better choices for life’s big moments and the everyday ones in between.

I had centered a temperature probe on the indirect side, allowing me to keep the lid down for consistency in testing. Less necessary are little LEDs that light up the dials. As far as I know, it’s still stuck and the lights are still on.

The other difference is that the Genesis has a larger total cooking area, so it is better for larger crowds or professional cooking. It also has a propane fuel gauge so that you always know where you stand and when next you will need to fill up, rather than be a victim of the element of surprise. The burners can become stuck and require a little extra force to pull out, but do not pull too hard and hit the top of the grill or yourself. With both hands, carefully pull the burner upwards and slightly to the left in order to pull it out of its slot. Place the removed heat deflector plates off to the side of the grill. Remove the heat deflector plates from on top of the burners.

An exclusive world-class grilling engine, three powerful burners, with iGrill 3 smart technology compatibility – backed by the Weber 10 year warranty on all parts. With those weaknesses and—–have a seat—–the $1,400 price tag weber q on the three-burner model, I just can’t recommend it. Results might vary slightly between the two-, four-, or six-burner models, but even still, it’s just too much money to spend on something so surprisingly underpowered.

Check out the original Genesis grills if you don’t have the patio space for one of the broader Genesis II models. All Genesis grills come with an angled grease tray, which directs any runoff into a disposable catch pan. Both the grease tray and the catch pan can be removed for easy cleaning, and the pan can be thrown out and replaced when it reaches its capacity. To achieve this, Weber updated the burner design for the Genesis II models.
