Classic K-Mini Plus Single Serve Coffee Maker, Black

It brews very neat coffee, and a prominent brand stands behind the quality of this coffee machine. Keurig fans will appreciate K-Mini’s clean and modern design. A small size makes it perfect for a variety of spaces . The Keurig K-Mini retails for $59.99 in matte black or my favorite, Oasis blue.

You won’t find a timer or clock, and there’s no way to program sizes or brew strengths. When we tested it, we also found it to be pretty noisy, which the sleepyheads in your family may not appreciate. The bottom line is that the Keurig Mini is very simple. This is mostly a good thing, especially if you need coffee to function in the morning. There are only two buttons — a power button and a brew button — plus a curved light that blinks to tell you the machine is ready to brew.

First, remove the water reservoir and fill it to the appropriate line. Put it back into place and select your favorite K-Cup 1.0. The price-to-value ratio on this one is just okay at best, so even if you can afford it, you may prefer to spend the same amount of money on a machine that offers a few more features.

The lovely richness inherent to freshly brewed coffee isn’t there. It’s… OK. It’s a pod coffee, hamilton beach dual coffee maker so what more can you say? You’re restricted to K-cups, which simply aren’t that great.

While that might sound like a detriment, it helps speed up the brewing process since the coffee maker only has to heat up a small amount of water. This gives you a fresh, hot cup of coffee in just a couple of minutes. Even though it’s small in size, it has a big opening for larger coffee cups, allowing you to use a mug or travel mug up to 7 inches tall with no problem. If you’re comfortable investing a few extra bucks, the K-Mini Plus is clearly the better of the two machines. The “Strong Brew” function makes all the difference for coffee enthusiasts who enjoy a strong drink. Meanwhile, the removable water reservoir cuts out a lot of hassle while cleaning the coffee maker.

One thing makes this brewer different from other Keurig® models; there is no water reservoir. This happens to be the only reason I prefer this unit – especially for my weekend cottage. The water does not sit in the unit all week while I am away, and winter storage is a non-factor.

You can remove the reservoir for easy filling on the Plus, while the original is locked onto the machine. Maintaining the K-Mini relies on Keurig’s descaling solution, which you need to use every three to six months to clean your machine. The K-Mini is a breeze to use and eliminates some of the flashy lights on other Keurigs for the sake of a two-button operation. You simply fill the water reservoir up to the 6-, 8-, 10-, or 12-ounce line, turn it on, insert a K-Cup, and press the large glowing button to start brewing.
