That loud spattering also manages to spray water around the machine and counter space. Not only does it fit “in any small space,” they went on to add that this compact coffee maker has an impressive design that makes it look like a “much more expensive machine.” For lateral counter-space the skinniest model was the Chefman Instabrew at only 4.25 inches in width followed closely by the Chulux which was only 4.3 inches wide. In comparison the Keurig K-Mini & K-Mini Plus machines were 4.5 inch wide while the Mixpresso machine came in at a still super skinny 4.7 inches in width.
If you can overlook the strange price hike, I would start by giving serious consideration to the three different colors available with the Keurig K-Mini. If you’re traveling elsewhere with it, make sure you get a good quality travel adapter. The Keurig K-Mini also has a small footprint, at 4.5 by 11.3 inches (though it’s quite tall, at 12.1 inches), further reinforcing its unobtrusive and portable nature. Ground coffee in filter baskets is incredibly easy to work with and won’t end up doubling your own contribution to your local landfill with useless little plastic pots. It is efficient and unassuming, well-priced (you’ll get a decent amount of change from a hundred dollars), and is very (very!) easy to use.
The Keurig K-Mini is less than 5 inches wide, which is perfect for a small coffee machine in small spaces. It brews either 6- or 12-cup sizes and has a one-cup reservoir that needs to be refilled each time you brew. You can keurig single cup drip coffee makers remove the drip tray to fit a travel mug, and it has cord storage. You can also use refillable K-Cups with this machine. This is the largest “small” k-cup coffee maker on this list however with size comes ease of use.
Your attention was focused on the two boxes that appeared to contain the same product but had a gap in price that would imply that one is different than the other. The point is that sometimes the differences are minute, and it comes down to price and how that affects options. Without the “Strong Brew” feature, the water travels through the grounds at a standard flow rate.
I’m buying one for my college-bound child (the cheapest one, because he also wants a mini-fridge and books), because the dorm room is another great scenario. If you’ve chosen to live that pod life, a Keurig K-Mini is a small step toward full caffeine intake. Overall, we prefer the K-Mini Plus, as it offers better value for money and brews better-quality coffee. However, if you prefer a larger water reservoir, the K-Slim may still be the best option for you.
It is still very low cost compared to the Keurigs and it is only slightly more expensive than the base unit Flexbrew unit. The Keurig model also heats and pumps water with the most power – 1470 watts. The Chulux and Mixpresso models only use 800 while Hamilton Beach and Chefman use only 1000 watts. As a side note the Mixpresso is only 9.1 inches tall coming in at a close second while the Keurig is nearly three inches taller standing 12.1 inches high. Let’s get started with the reviews beginning with my video review which I’ve embedded below.
