Walk-behind push-mowers are powered by your strength, where you move them by pushing them over the grass you want you cut.
But compared to most gas lawn mowers, the Greenworks GLM is much lighter, and consequently easier to push and manage. It provides a smooth, clean lawn cut with the ideal 21-inch cutting width, and the battery is quite responsive. However, there is a glaring omission in this mower – there’s no safety key. You have to physically take the battery out if you want to make sure the motor can’t turn on with an accidental button press. Greenworks shook up the battery-powered OPE market with its 25-inch commercial mower a while back. Now they have a 60V version for homeowners and it has some updates for this season.
You can typically get faster acceleration if you want from electric (ever ride in a Tesla?), and we like the extra attention here. We turned it on and off quite a bit, but were able to clear our driveway, patio, garage area, and move debris from all of our flower beds. We loved that we were able to blow leaves from anywhere no matter how cramped or cluttered, but the battery lasted 50 minutes at most. The Greenworks Pro 80V Cordless Brushless Axial Blower is a smart choice for those who have small or hard-to-reach outdoor areas. Its limited battery life is a major downfall, though.

The size and shape of your yard, as well as the kind of grass you have and the amount of slope on your lawn will affect what kind of lawn mower you need. For example, if you have a flat lawn, then you may want to consider a front-wheel drive lawn mower, instead of a rear-wheel drive lawn mower which is better for sloped yards.
It also folds up in a self proclaimed “2 seconds.” So take that for what you will. I don’t know how that really impacts the way the mower works but I guess it makes it that much quicker to a nice Bud Latte during a hot summer afternoon. If the mower should start to vibrate abnormally, immediately stop the motor, remove the battery and check for the cause.
