Alen® HEPA Air Purifier Alen® BreatheSmart 75i

The F700 HEPA type filtration combines four different filter technologies. Polluted air first passes through a washable Pre-Filter, capturing large particles. Air then moves through HEPA type material where 99.9% of PM2.5 and 99% of PM0.3 are captured. Next, an antimicrobial layer on Lasko Box Fan the HEPA media kills captured germs & microbes. Finally, the air passes through the activated carbon layer which filters out household chemicals, VOCs, odors and pollution. When it comes to quality, performance and customer satisfaction, Alen stands by their air purifiers for life.

To get the purifier up and running is ridiculously simple. Once everything is unwrapped, open the front hatch via the air inlets on the side of the machine and slot in the HEPA filter, with the pre-filter facing towards you. Then once connected to mains, hit the power button and you’re good to go. Although its price comes in at the higher end of the mid-range market, you’ll struggle to find another purifier for under $450 that boasts 5 air changes per hour in an 800 sq. Ft room with a CADR rating of 245, along with the real-world performance to back it up.

It gets the job done, but the humidistat isn’t as accurate as others in this category; it earns only a Fair rating in that test. (For less than $10, you can purchase a hygrometer that measures humidity.) This is a basic model and does not have an auto-restart feature or a clean-filter alert. This 12-inch-deepBrondell Coral UC300 Three Stagefilters up to 600 gallons of water via three cartridges. The end-of-life indicator will alert you when it’s time to replace the cartridge.

Despite being a powerful machine, it doesn’t take up too much space and as far as white goods go, sits comfortably in my living space, bedroom or office. Due to its relatively lightweight, it’s easy to maneuver from room to room and can slot nicely into the corner or a cupboard when not in use. We try to keep up with sales for every air purifier we review; alen breathesmart Classic sales included.

You do need to take the price of the unit with some consideration. The cost of replacement filters is the true cost of any air purifier. Some companies do have a ridiculously low price of the air purifier itself because they earn money on the replacement filters. Alen BreatheSmart Classic has Alen’s signature H13 HEPA filters. In short, they are brilliant even at removing the smallest air particulates such as small dust particles, smoke particles, pollen, mold, mold spores, certain bacteria, and so on. In this review of the Alen BreatheSmart Classic, we’ll look at the specifications that make the Classic one of the best air purifiers for large rooms.

Each of Alen’s True HEPA filters are capable of capturing 99.99% of airborne contaminants down to 0.1 microns, which are certainly impressive figures. However these results reflect controlled lab testing, so I was keen to see how these figures translate in the real world. Even at the lowest Speed 1, the Classic generates 45 dB of noise. This is quite a lot; comparatively, as we have discussed in the Alen BreatheSmart 75i review, that air purifier generates only 25 dB at Speed 1.
