The 73b was just a bit too grabby and harsh. The closeness was about the same when fitted to the Series 5 . If you plan on shaving less often or have a coarser beard, I think you’ll be happier with this one. While definitely more expensive than the 5018s, the 5140s is a better shaver in every way.

Wet shaving with foam did feel more comfortable, but I don’t like the residue that gets left inside electric shavers after using foam, soaps, and shaving creams. I do wonder if these may lessen the longevity of blades/cutters.
One of the reasons for this is of course the less powerful motor which also contributes to a lengthier shaving session. It is one of the quietest Braun models I’ve used so far, on par with the Series 9 in this regard. For some light grooming like the situations mentioned above, it is not ideal.
