A powerful all-round cleaner, the bissell crosswave cordless Max can vacuum and mop at the same time. It’s excellent on hard floors, dealing with tough stains quickly, and does a reasonable job with lighter stains on carpets and rugs, too. Decent battery life combined with fast cleaning should result in enough juice for most people to manage their homes. A relatively high price means that those on tighter budgets will be better off with a plug-in model.
However the battery life keeps me from cleaning more than a room at a time. Also, I think it’s a little less powerful than the corded version but that was not a surprise. You can only do one wet and dry pass and with a little less power than the corded it really makes it harder to achieve efficient cleaning. The vacuum can be linked to the Bissell app so you can track battery life, and when to replace the filter, formula, and brush. It also has a hub for instructions, so you don’t have to hold on to the paper manual. Plus, the machine has a self-cleaning feature while in its charging dock to help keep the vacuum’s brush head in good condition.
Had Bissell provided the option to purchase a spare battery that can be charged with the docking station at the same time, this would have resulted in a higher rating. Something I’ve had to get used to with the Bissell crosswave is its weight. It’s 11.5 pounds does give me a bit of an arm workout by the time I’m done cleaning my floors.
