The strike plate, door springs, and the door gasket are the other parts worth checking and adjusting/re-aligning/replaced for this issue. Check the door hinges– It won’t latch shut if the hinges are loose/bent. Many times, replacing them is the best solution. Change the control board- If it won’t work even after this, you may be looking at a defective control board . The drain hose may be blocked so the dishwasher overflows flooding the base of the machine.
We also use dinner bowls quite often for certain meals and frankly, I haven™™t actually been able to figure out how to get more than three in at a time. I also agree with some other reviewers that the silverware basket has issues. The space it occupies is way larger than the basket requires and the frigidaire gallery dishwasher basket itself (with the flip-up lids with spacers for the flatware) is taller than it should be. I™™m still getting used to the third rack and figuring out what fits (i.e. which large spoons or spatulas etc.) that won™™t get hit by the upper spray arm. I™™d rather that drawer just not be there.
There are only 2 trays & I really miss the third, the top one. The trays are bout as durable as I am used to. It is a contractor dishwasher & I am not used to that quality, or lack of it. Thought we were upgrading from an Electrolux model EIDW6105GW0 but to our disappointment it was more of a downgrade. They both clean well but the Frigidaire is noisier, the dish racks are very poorly designed and poorly made with low grade materials.
As directed by manufacturers, we use rinse aid in every load. Drying is our assessment of how thoroughly a model dries plastic items, the most stubborn in any load. Looks great with my other black stainless appliances. Quiet and love the third shelf for silverware. Only disappointment is it doesn™™t dry as well as I expected for a higher priced dishwasher.
But I would have preferred if the dishwasher had just left the dishes wet instead of cloudy and covered in splotches. You can buy the $850 Frigidaire FGID2476SF now from Home Depot, Best Buy,Searsand other large appliance retailers. I’m a big fan of the smudge-proof stainless finish, but you can also find it in black or white for $20 less. Head to Frigidaire’s site to find retailers in your area. As usual with large appliances, look for a discount off of the list price.
The bottom rack allows me to line up the plates & pull the rack in and out as many times as I need to. My old dishwasher would derail with all the plates so I had to load it without pulling the rack out. I had to climb inside the dishwasher to load it. I also can load taller glasses on the second rack.
