Bongs – Bongs reside in a universe of their own, with bongs of all shapes, sizes, colors, and complexity. The carb on the side of a spoon’s bowl helps you clear the pipe chamber, making cleaning super easy. Just tip the glass pipe to the side to remove the remaining residue. While this story might sound like it was made up, it was not. This story is shared by hundreds if not thousands of people who were following the Grateful Dead on tour that summer.
While it may look common on the surface, the real magic happens over time. When clean, the pipe appears transparent with lightly fumed colors but through use, it will turn a dark and rich color! It won’t change on its own though, you’re going to have to put it to use to reveal the full-color change. Even with this fact, we advise our stoners to frequently clean their bongs. This is perfect especially if you are looking for constant nice highs.
Glass pipes are different from water pipes, bubblers, and dab rigs. Simply put, they are a smoking tool for smoking tobacco or herbs, and usually consist of a mouthpiece, a stem, and a glass bowl in which you load your tobacco or dry herbs. In contrast to other smoking pipes, like wood pipes and metal pipes, glass hand pipes don’t affect or add any other flavors to your smoke. The best thing about a glass pipe is often the accessibility it offers, as you can take it just about anywhere and it’s compact enough to store in your pocket!
You can learn and browse from the comfort of your own couch! A few other kinds of stores, like adult stores or gas stations, may also carry glass pipes. Not so much an advantage, but with glass, you can also see the smoke fill up the pipe for a more visually pleasing experience.
We stock a variety of unique pipes made from other materials including ceramic and wood, but the most popular option is a glass hand pipe (often called a “bowl”). These classic pipes offer a smooth, reliable way to smoke your favorite herb, and are usually small enough to fit in your pocket. For those who prefer not to commit to just one pipe experience, we also offer popular pipe kits, including Grav Labs’ impressive Helix Multi Bubbler 3-in-1 Kit! Whether you’re looking for the perfect classic pipe or a cutting edge piece, DopeBoo’s pipe shop has you covered. Our handpicked selection has a beginner-to-connoisseur variety of sizes, shapes, and materials designed to elevate your smoking experience to its ultimate potential.
Do not necessarily pack it as fully or tightly as possible, as this can restrict airflow. Often times there is a hole on the side known as a “carb” which acts as a way to clear your smoke and alter your airflow. Steamroller – Using a large, front facing carb hole , Steamrollers are great at providing larger hits with minimal materials. Beginners often find steamrollers “harsh” on the throat, but with a bit of practice you’ll learn to modulate the carb for the exact amount of air you need. This compact & small but yet so powerful bong will have you feeling ripped after a few bowl packs!
At this point, the final step is to shape the mouthpiece and then break the entire pipe off of the initial glass tubing. The artist smooths out the mouthpiece, eliminating any irregularities or sharp edges. Once the bowl has been shaped, the glass blower uses a rod to gently press down in the center of the bulb. This step is called the “bowl push” and it’s what creates the depression in which smokers pack their herb. A hollow pipe with a bowl piece on one end, and a mouthpiece on the other. Both ends of the pipe are open, and the open end near the bowl functions as the carburetor.
Bubbler pipes, aka hammers, are usually made out of glass and they hold water in a reservoir on the opposite end of the mouthpiece. Typically, a hammer or bubbler has a stem that extends down from the actual bowl itself into the water reservoir, which creates a bubbling filtration system when you smoke from it. Flower, hash, and kief are popular to smoke glass pipes out of a bubbler or hammer pipe. When it comes to cleaning a stone pipe, depending on the design of the actual piece, it can sometimes be hard to squeeze into all the cracks and crevices to get the piece cleared out. While the taste might be subpar to glass, a lot of that has to do with the fact these stone pipes are more prone to build-up and bacteria.
