Keurig K

The Keurig Mini is the predecessor to the Keurig Mini Plus. It’s essentially the baseline model of the K Mini machine series by Keurig. The Keurig K Mini is essentially all you need to brew quality beverages at home. It’s available in black and grey, but unlike the Keurig Mini, it’s also available in white.

Keurig K-Mini

No, neither Keurig’s k slim or k mini have a water filter. You can easily get around this by filling the water reservoir in the k-slim or k mini with filtered water from a bottle or from your home filter. For a little more functionality, Keurig K-Mini the K-Slim is ideal for your needs but it’s important to note that the k-slim is a little bigger. If you wanted the smallest coffee maker possible that is still able to make a great cup, the k mini is fantastic.

Not only does it fit “in any small space,” they went on to add that this compact coffee maker has an impressive design that makes it look like a “much more expensive machine.” The K-Mini is designed with a one-cup reservoir, so to make a cup of coffee you just fill it with the desired amount and brew your beverage anywhere from 6 to 12 ounces. Plus, since it has an auto turn-off feature to help it shut off a minute and a half after your last brew, it saves on electricity drain.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty specifics of this review, we’ll go through a few of the pros and cons of this coffee machine. Basically I have to pull the new models out from under the cabinet to put water in them whereas the older K15 model didn’t have to be moved for me to use it. Other than these three points the two units are identical. Most importantly the inner workings of the two machines are 100% identical so they should have the same expected lifespan and should make the same exact tasting coffees. For me the storage compartment is annoying but I know full well a lot of people will like this added perk.

All you need to do is open the lid of the brewer, insert the pod with your desired beverage, place your cup on the tray, then press the strong brew button. He pod door, located top and toward the back, works best when the unit is not located below upper kitchen cabinets. Mind you, it’s still accessible when located under cabinets, just more enjoyable to use when the space above the coffee maker. If you use a single serve coffee maker and a conventional coffee maker, this is the appliance for you. You won’t find any nice-to-haves here like timers, clocks, or brew strength adjustments.

The K Mini and K Slim impress with a very fast brewing time. The K Mini and K Slim are less than 5 inches wide making them perfect for use in small places. The Bosch Tassimo T55 is another single-serve coffee maker that uses T-discs instead of K-Cups. While K-Cups are more prevalent and easier to find, the cost of the two is comparable. You can keep your machine in good working condition by cleaning it regularly.
