As far as features are concerned, there are other models that are more advanced than these two Omrons. For instance, don’t expect to find Bluetooth Connectivity in either the 7 Series or 5 Series. You should know that there are also other models that you wrap around your wrist. The 7 Series and 5 Series are equipped with cuffs that you wrap around the upper part of your arm. Before we present the differences, here’s a few notes about these Omron BP monitors.
BP742N ‘s measurement was between 3-10 higher than my old one. It features a two user mode that tracks the last 30 readings for each of two people using the monitor and Advanced Averaging of the last 3 readings over a 10 minute time span. Accuracy is based on how the model’s readings compared with those taken on a mercury sphygmomanometer used by two trained testers. Avoid bathing, drinking alcohol or caffeine, smoking, exercising and eating for 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Ensure that the air tube is on the inside of the arm and wrap the cuff securely to prevent it from moving around. Take the measurement five minutes after seated and resting. The quality is excellent and the time of delivery was very quick, which was much appreciated.
