Can You Put A Frame Mounted Engine On A Schwinn Meridian Trike?

The brakes and chains are all set up on the main unit. That way you don’t need to worry about trying to get those assembled and mounted to the frame. The brake cords are attached, so the main frame and handle bars are connected by those cords. However, you’ll need to actually mount the handlebars on the frame and tighten them down with a wrench.

Take note that riding a tricycle with three wheels is not like riding a bicycle with two wheels. So, before you ride your bike, please look at a video on how to use a tricycle, as described in my article. It’s also a great review to read if you’re not yet convinced to purchase a Schwinn Meridian Tricycle.

Schwinn Meridian

On one hand, it’s a simple adult trike with a basket. On the other hand, Schwinn has a long history of making quality bikes of all shapes and sizes, unlike a Slsy Tricycle Three Wheeler. You always have to consider the basket more closely; it can help shave down your gas bill if you take this in lieu of your car for quick grocery trips. It’s also much cheaper than a Raleigh Tristar Tricycle.

The brakes are generally easy to adjust and offer excellent stopping. The wheels are also relatively large, especially the 26-inch wheels, to offer you extra stability. Pacific Cycle employs alloy rims in the trike’s wheels which are not just lightweight but pretty sturdy.

Adult bikes come in different sizes, and often, the difference between getting the right bike and missing it is the size you opt for. One Schwinn Meridian popular size is the 28 inch, which compels many to ask, ’28… The overall width of the trike at the back, however, is about inches.

I am an old geezer with balance and mounting/dismounting problems using bicycles, and this trike solves both problems. Remember, with any bike, you need to ride safely and obey the laws in your particular town. To watch a brief video about the basic rules of the road, go to my article,Bicycles and Seniors – I Bet You Haven’t Forgotten How.

I doubt going off a curb is going to damage a Huffy Nel Lusso. It’s built like a brick but that is one of the problems. I wouldn’t even recommend the 3-speed Schwinn for anyone with a disability that limits their ability to pedal.

All of these solid design features make the Meridian a comfortable, sturdy and safe vehicle. This trike enjoys a super-low geometry with step-thru access. In addition, its step-thru frame offers you a low stand-over height to allow you to get on and off the trike quickly. You’ll have a great tricycle at a great price if you’re willing to deal with a few minor issues at first. Schwinn Meridian Adult Tricycle comes in a variety of sizes, wheels, handlebars, and baskets, and is extremely delicately designed to meet the needs of the user.

You’ll find a couple of main parts when you first unpack the tricycle. There is the main part of the frame which has the handlebars, brakes, chains, and drive. Also, there is a rear part of the frame that you need to attach. This is the part of the frame that goes between the two rear wheels of the tricycle. Finally, you need to attach the three wheels to the bike. In addition to the features for comfort, there are several safety features that are worth noting.

I’m building a motorized Schwinn trike as well, but mine’s like 30+ yrs old. I specifically chose those because of room in the back to Schwinn Meridian put the motor and such. Upright ‘delta’ Trike braking is entirely on the front wheel, and tipping over in a corner as you describe…
