Brunswick bought Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was purchased by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a number one bicycle firm in the world will be created, with a combined income of round 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a model name of bicycles originally mongoose hybrid bike designed, manufactured, and offered by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was a completely owned manufacturing division created for insurance functions to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, despite the fact that RECO was always produced in-house.
It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his try and market bike frames. Skip Hess began BMX Products, Inc. out of his residence in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 along with mongoose hybrid bike his first product being the famous Motomag One wheel. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day were produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location.
