Testing Stem and Handlebar Tightness • Straddle the front wheel between your legs. • Try to turn the front wheel by turning the handlebar. • Do this test again, until the handlebar and stem do not turn without turning the front wheel.
I have ridden the crap out of it, the frame seems to be holding so far. The only thing I would advise is make sure your rear wheel cones are nice and tight. Also this frame will be quite heavy after you’re finished.
Them new for $130 new and I already have a set of wide rims. If you go to look at the lusso again, measure the wheels. I think that bike has the same frame as the Panama Jack.My friend bought one of those and its very small compared to my Schwinn Cruisers. I was wandering around Wallyworld and they had one of these Huffy bikes on display.

I made a point of getting an un-assembled bike so that I could build it up the way I wanted it without having to disassemble the whole thing first. My current favorite is AtomicZombie.com, but the Park Tools website has great maintenance tutorials as well. We’ve talked about those before, better price, but the other Schwinn Meridian problem is still that all the cool parts say “Huffy” in a way that’s difficult to remove. Embossed in the grips, chain guard and rack, and embroidered into the seat. I see the mens and womens with a 3spd nexus for $200 and wonder if it would be worth it, a wheel set new on ebay isnt much cheaper pricing wise.
The coaster has too close of a line between hard stopping and a full lockup. You can probably improvise an effective shield from a rubber washer or fat O-ring from the hardware store. The stock dust shield isn’t really all that effective anyway. A dust cap is not a common individual item– my shop salvages them for later use, but many shops don’t.
