At its crux is a patented firebox that burns logs above the cooking chamber and sucks heat and extremely clean blue smoke into the thermostat controlled oven. I have to say, overall, I was impressed with what a good cooking performance the Weber Q 2200 offers up. Although it has a few limitations that you wouldn’t necessarily find with a whole grill, I did enjoy grilling on it. Grill a quick afternoon lunch of burgers and hotdogs, or a fish fillet for family dinner. The main thing I want you to take away from this section is that all of these grills have great cooking performance. Lastly, the Q3200 includes a significant feature that none of the other grills have.
It seems like it was a one-off fluke, and honestly, the resolution was simple enough that it didn’t bother me too much. This little grill cooks just as well as my full sized Weber Genesis II 300 series. Since I am only cooking for two of us now, capacity is not an issue. I can put it in the weber q trunk and take it to the park or beach. The stand itself is a bit on the flimsy side but it’s nice for use on the deck and I can fold everything down and roll it away in the corner when not in use. The only downside is that I go through the 1lb gas bottles after only a handful of cooks.
The side tables work okay but they are flimsy enough that I never trust them with anything important. I will use the side tables to hold barbecue sauce and tongs but I don’t have enough faith in them to let them hold a platter of steaks. The weber q 1000 is the basic model of the Weber Q portable series. But don’t let the word “basic” discourage you from buying this model. It’s considered a staple in the Weber world and is a great portable propane grill to own.

Upon looking at some photos that I took of a q100 next to a q2200 , it appears that there is a slight difference in the lid, but not so much in the lip of the base. Now, don’t take this as gospel – you might have better luck talking directly with Weber – but if I were to guess, I would say you could probably get away with it.
