The Keurig K-Mini is one of the smallest and most inexpensive models in Keurig’s lineup. It may not be for everyone, but it’s a good option for single coffee drinkers who value simplicity and a streamlined design. A fresh design to fit in more places, K-Mini Plus is attractive and easy to use. Considering its price, there are better coffee maker bargains out there. Reflects how easy it is to operate a unit, refill the water reservoir, and clean the appliance after use.
This container “plugs” right into the space where your coffee mug would normal sit during the brew cycle. Both the K-Mini and the Plus version use identical internal components and styling. They both give you cord storage, needle and funnel removal, drip tray removal but the Plus version gives you a couple extra features.
Not to mention how environmentally unfriendly all those single-use plastic pods can be. If you are going to buy a single-serve Keurig machine then you may as well spend the extra money to get one with removable parts that make it easier to clean. Even a water reservoir will get dirty after a while, and being able to remove that and clean it is worth a few bucks. Such is the case with the Keurig K-Mini and the Keurig K-Mini Plus. As the Plus would indicate, the latter has a few more features that set it apart from its predecessor, but are those features something you need?

The water reservoir is removable, holds more water, and has a water filter offer. This machine is larger than the K Mini, though, so it may not be ideal if you don’t have a lot of counter space. You also get a water reservoir where your brew cup consists of Cuisinart Coffee 100% of what is in the reservoir when you press the brew button. Minimum amount of water is 6-ounces, maximum is 12-ounces. If you put 6oz in then you get a 6oz cup of coffee out – 12oz in and you get a 12 oz cup of coffee out, and so forth in between.
Neither the k mini / k slim models are capable of making complicated drinks like a latte / cappuccino. You do have a choice of different flavors from the various K-pods available. If you have your special blend available, be sure to get the adapter to use your own coffee grounds.
The removable reservoir is not only easier to refill, but it makes it much more convenient to clean. Keurig isn’t the only brand to dream up a single-serve coffee maker and put it on the market. The K Mini Hamilton Beach Plus definitely has some competition on the market, so it’s a good idea to check these models out before making a final buying decision. The K Mini Plus takes up next to no room with its 5-inch width.
However, the Keurig Mini Plus offers an improved strong brew option. You have a removable water tank, strong brew function, and an extra pod storage container. You need to decide whether you want to pay more for those extra features. Both the Keurig Mini and Mini Plus are entry-level Keurig machines.
