However, we understand some may live in larger households or have greater need and they should take what is needed to protect themselves and their families. Consumers can obtain free COVID-19 rapid antigen self-tests by contacting one of the organizations. There are no eligibility requirements or limits per household. The self-tests are indicated for children as young as 2 years old when administered by an adult, and for all people 14 and older to self-perform.
Organizations can toggle for different parameters, including levels of vaccination among employees, masking, social distancing and cohorting to determine a testing strategy based on the best available science. If you are enrolled in any of the University’s medical plans, we have partnered with OptumRx, the University’s pharmacy benefit manager, to provide reimbursement for COVID-19 at-home tests. Through your prescription drug benefit, you can either purchase at-home COVID tests through the OptumRx preferred pharmacy network COVID 19 Test Kits or at any alternative retailer. Your plan is required to reimburse you at a rate of up to $12 per individual test (or the cost of the test, if less than $12). Save your receipt to submit to your plan for reimbursement at a rate of at least $12 per individual test (or the cost of the test, if less than $12). If you purchase an over-the-counter COVID-19 test from a pharmacy, store, or online retailer and are charged for your test, keep your receipt and submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. If your plan has not set up a network of preferred stores, pharmacies, and online retailers at which you can obtain a test with no out-of-pocket expense, you will be reimbursed the amount of the cost of the test.
