It can be self-administered by individuals ages 14 and up, and adults can administer the test for children ages 2 to 13. The testing kit manufacturer, iHealth has user instructions online, written instructions inside the box and a video tutorial on how to properly take the test. When you receive your kit, follow the instructions for the nasal swab test and then mail your kit back in the pre-addressed, pre-paid envelope. MCLD and Maricopa County Department of Public Health are partnering to offer free at-home COVID-19 test kits at all 18 MCLD libraries. The tests are self-administered nasal swab tests to detect an active COVID-19 infection. OptumRx has partnered with Walmart, Sam’s Club, Rite Aid pharmacies, Walgreens, and Kinney Drugs.
Test kits and masks will be available at these locations until supplies run out, and the City is strongly encouraging people take no more than 2 test kits and 4 masks per household. However, we understand some may live in larger households or have greater need and they should take what is needed to protect themselves and their families. We encourage you to order free at-home tests from COVID.gov, check with your local pharmacy for at-home test kits, or visit a community testing site for free testing services. You may also contact your doctor or primary healthcare provider about scheduling a test, or contact your local or tribal health department for assistance locating tests in your community. All health centers and Medicare-certified rural health clinics are eligible to receive and distribute at-home self-tests COVID 19 Test Kits to their communities, and to conduct point-of-care tests in the primary care setting. This is to support greater COVID-19 mitigation efforts and to ensure that those most at risk for COVID-19 have access to at-home self-testing and point-of-care testing supplies. Consumers can find out from their plan or insurer if it provides direct coverage of over-the-counter COVID-19 tests through such a program or whether they will need to submit a claim for reimbursement.
This supplemental testing is optional and designed to help keep you and those around you as safe and healthy as possible when you are not able to participate in routine on-campus testing. The process takes about minutes, including the app registration, taking the test, waiting for the results and interpretation of results. Please print an image of the digital receipt along with the member reimbursement form. If you are unable to produce a digital receipt, please put the order or invoice number for the purchase on the reimbursement form for tracking and validation.
