CrossWave Cordless

Decent battery life combined with fast cleaning should result in enough juice for most people to manage their homes. A relatively high price means that those on tighter budgets will be better off with a plug-in model. Admittedly this multi-surface tool isn’t as easy to manoeuvre as a stick vacuum is – or even an upright vacuum. It’s heavy with a water tank on-board as well as a tank for collecting dirt, debris and dirty water. Though saying that, we did find that it gets into corners and along skirting boards. Going from hard floors to carpeted areas or rugs is quite easy, though depending on the difference in the thickness you may have to lift the machine.

Once finished you’ll want to grab and empty both water tanks – be prepared for what you’ll find in the dirty tank – and with the dirty tank, remove the filter and clean it thoroughly. Then, take out the rotating brush bar and give it a good clean under your tap. You can pop these tools on the 3-in-1 docking station to dry. The Cordless Max Pet dyson robot vacuum combines all of your floor cleaning chores with cordless freedom in an effort to save you precious time and energy. And since your dog probably isn’t going to lend a hand, you’ll need all the help you can get. It can tackle messes on hard floors like tile, linoleum, wood, or laminate, as well as carpets, rubber floor mats, and area rugs.

Due to size, this product ships in its original packaging. Packaging is the same as what is found in a retail store. All products featured here are independently selected by our editors and writers. If you buy something through links on our site, Mashable may earn an affiliate commission.

Each time you use the product, hold the solution trigger for 10 seconds to prime the system with cleaning solution before you begin cleaning. When you hold the trigger, LED lights will illuminate. The Walmart-exclusive Bissell CrossWave Max Pet, which is basically a cordless wet-dry vacuum, is both a solid pet hair picker-upper and a pet stain remover.

Thankfully, the CrossWave seems to remove more excess water than other models, leaving just a very thin film in its wake which evaporates in minutes. In fact, this part of the process impressed me so much that the machine has become my new go-to floor cleaner for all eventualities. There will be times, mind, when you will need to remove the dirty water container and rinse it under a sink, especially if the catch filter is clogged with hair or other unsightly muck.

So I am back to buy the corded version of the Crosswave today. The shark cordless Max is great for pretty much anyone with several rooms to clean, but little time to do so – since it does three jobs in one. Though saying that, we didn’t find that this machine dried floors as well as we would hope. They will still be damp, but not as wet as they would be after mopping. It’s also great for parents and pet owners, since it can vacuum up liquid-based mess, too, and it rids the need of getting out your vacuum and mop when something is spilt.

It is tempting to pull out the Crosswave and get the mopping done because it really is easy, but I have to plan before I mop. If the self-cleaning feature wasn’t enough, the Bissel Crosswave Max has more to make it even more low maintenance. My first post went through my initial pros and cons of the Bissell Crosswave, and why I chose to buy it then. But as with every new household gadget, you get to know its quirks by using it for a while.

It washes the rugs by injecting a solution of water and multi-surface cleaner into the fibres while the rotating brush roll removes dirt and refreshes, leaving a nice smell. There’s something incredibly satisfying in being pleased with a cleaning machine when you’re not a natural ‘cleaner’. I may have approached the Bissell Crosswave Cordless as a new toy, to begin with, but by the time I finished, it has become an essential tool. After using it, I was left with a clean, shiny laminate flooring, sparkling tiles in the kitchen, fresh rugs in the sitting and lounging areas and a clean carpet upstairs.

We think that this multi-surface cleaner performs very well on low-pile carpets and rugs. It manages to remove an impressive amount of debris while leaving your floors looking practically brand new. Though impressive on low-pile carpets and rugs, we didn’t find that it did an incredible job on high-pile rugs. This is dyson robot vacuum understandable, as these rugs ideally need to be taken to the dry cleaners. Clean all types of floors with this all-in-one multi-surface cleaner without the hassle of cords. A dual-action brush roll and a two-tank water system means you only need one cleaning tool to tackle hardwood floors, carpets and area rugs.
