Apart from charging the battery, the dock offers a place to clean the device as well as storage. It comes with a tray to hold water when rinsing out the machine after a cleaning task. Afterward, the docking station holds the device until you need it for another task.
You will need to put this docking station next to a plug socket. Preferably, this plug socket will be out of sight from you and your guests, since this machine isn’t exactly the smallest. This is one of our only issues with the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max – it’s quite hard to store. Ours is currently sitting in our kitchen, charging through a plug that sits above our worktop. It’s worth us noting that this machine has to be sat on the dock to charge, and you’ll want to place it on there when self-cleaning, too. If you are short on storage space, this is not the appliance for you.
We think that this multi-surface cleaner performs very well on low-pile carpets and rugs. It manages to remove an impressive amount of debris while leaving your floors looking practically brand new. Though impressive on low-pile carpets and rugs, we didn’t find that it did an incredible job on high-pile rugs. This is understandable, as these rugs ideally need to be taken to the dry cleaners. This machine helps maintain it’s a performance with a self-cleaning cycle that cleans the brush roll and inside of the CrossWave so you have less you have to take care of yourself. For smaller areas, this appliance is a nice, convenient way to dyson robot vacuum quickly clean, but think twice if you intend to use it for larger homes. Had Bissell provided the option to purchase a spare battery that can be charged with the docking station at the same time, this would have resulted in a higher rating.
The battery is a lithium-ion, which means better performance and longer life. As the vacuum picks up hair and dirt, some of this debris can get stuck in the base and along the brush roll. When I’m doing a deep clean, it’s normal for me to find a few wet hairballs shark cordless that have rolled out from the machine onto the floor. The best way to avoid this is to pull out any accumulation midway through cleaning, although I wish I didn’t have this issue to begin with. Convert into a hand vacuum to clean upholstery, furniture and stairs.
However the battery life keeps me from cleaning more than a room at a time. Also, I think it’s a little less powerful than the corded version but that was not a surprise. You can only do one wet and dry pass and with a little less power than the corded it really makes it harder to achieve efficient cleaning. The brush roll on the CrossWave cordless is designed to work on different floor types.
