It’s cleaner, powers the Mavic Air 2, and is more streamlined than DJI’s GO 4 app – which is compatible with more advanced drones including the Phantom 4 and Mavic 2 series. A top progress line allows you to view how much battery life is left on the drone, and the control panel can be accessed in the upper-right-hand corner. The dji fly SE will include your standard DJI 3-axis stabilized gimbal and will pack a 12MP camera which can record up to 2.7K (so, we’re not quite talking about 4K aerial visuals here). The Mini SE will also include some CineSmooth modes for more cinematic slow-motion videography options, as well as solid stability sensors and GPS-focused precision hovering. It’s superbly built, extremely reliable and it’s hard to believe such ravishing aerial imagery could come out of something so small and portable. If you’re looking for a camera-equipped drone that you will always want to take with you, then the Mini 2 is unquestionably the model to go for.
To me Mini 2 controller is better the way it mounts your phone on top and looks more simpler to mount than the bottom mount with two clamps on the horizontal with angled clamp arrangement. Besides cost, drones require a heavy investment in time. The Mini lets you explore the possibilities of drone photography, and how they fit with your personal goals. And we’re talking about digital zoom, there’s no optical zoom in this drone. Only drone I’ve ever flown and it is dead easy to fly and use. Unless you are flying recklessly or aren’t competent it would be hard to crash it.
After all, a drone of this nature is designed for shooting video so the last thing you want is something that is blisteringly quick . The drone comes with a remote controller that maintains an HD video feed at a distance of up to 4 kilometers (about 2.5 miles). Its detachable control sticks can be stored inside the remote controller, too. The drone’s light weight allows it to stay in the air longer than other models, according to the brand, and it offers up to 30 minutes of flight time on a full charge.
Apparently, the Mini 3 will launch with a revised controller as well, which has a large display and two joysticks. It proved to me how many flagship drone features I actually don’t miss when they’re gone. This drone strikes a near perfect balance between price, mobility, and image quality. There are plenty of DJI drones to choose from, from the commercial DJI Inspire 2 drone to the consumer DJI Mavic Air 2.

Off the bat, I’d say that this really might not be the most video-centric option for seasoned film and video professionals. Maybe you want to fly your drone more than 30m, but you still are afraid of the drone getting too far away from you. You can use the DJI Fly app to manually set distance and altitude limits. You’ll want to log into your DJI account before flight. Otherwise all flights no matter the mode, will be limited to 30 m altitude and 50 m in distance.
