The design of the Series 5 is so sleek that the braun Series 9, which is the high end of the Braun range, has the same design and is highly recommended. The handle is widest at the top, near the cassette, and then tapers down in the middle. The Braun Series 5 is a majority black colour, with small bits of red or blue detail, while the shaving head comes in either black or silver. The shaver has 3 flexible blades that are advertised as being able to effortlessly follow the curves and contours of your face. I used shaving foam with it and It left patches of hair intact pretty much all over.
After starting the power, pass the shaver like other foil shavers. You can use water, foam, gel or soap to have wet and refreshing shaves since all the new generation Series 5 shavers are wet/dry featured. The Braun 5050cs is the most advanced shaver in the new EasyClean version of shavers. The shaver comes with a smart design and user-friendly interface with rubberized grip.

Unfortunately, if I do that this razor does not cut all the beard growth and leaves hairs. You have to go over repeatedly, or in my case, go over with my old Norelco I wanted to replace. If I shave again the next day, I am happy with this Braun, otherwise it is a disappointment. The Li-ion battery will ensure up to 50 minutes worth of cordless use, with the option of a 5-minute quick charge function.
There is a multi-direction headlock technology in the shaver that allows you to lock the flexible head in a predetermined position for shaving tricky areas. Braun implemented Philips Norelco Shaver a built-in precision trimmer in the shaver that is enough for precision trimming and detailing. If a manual clean of the Series 5 seems a bit fiddly that’s because it is. It takes a few good minutes to get all the hairs out and I was still not convinced that there weren’t any left. The Series cc comes with Braun’s Clean & Charge station, but you can also clean it manually if choose so. Cleaning our gear is an integral part of any shaving routine and ideally it should be fast and easy to perform. I will say it right off the bat, as far as shaving performance goes, they are very similar.
I’m used to the 5 series shaver and although this is a 5 according to Braun, it’s more like a 5a type. Lastly, it cleans by only tapping the head to shake out the cuttings and then brushing the rest away. Only minus is you have to change the head to attach a trimmer blade- it doesn’t pop up as on the 5 series shaver.
As a side note, I find the pre-shave lotions from Speick and Tabac to work much better than Lectric Shave. If you can get them, I think it’s worth trying them out. Speick + the Series cc is now my go-to setup for a dry shave. If you plan on shaving less often Braun Series 5 or have a coarser beard, I think you’ll be happier with this one. If you clean the razor with soap after every shave, then you should also lubricate it after every shave. Shake off the excess water and optionally pat the parts dry with a clean cloth.
