The 360 Eye is not the friendliest of all vacuums, because it’s noisy and loud, but it’s still at a nicer level than many others. Dyson does a great deal with his technical efforts, but his exterior product design is also a vital component in the popularity of his products. The 360 Eye is no different, and its violet, blue and shiny greys make a strong aesthetic point that is truly complimentary to your home décor. There’s no word on prices nor dates for other regions just yet, but the 360 Heurist will be hitting China come November for 5,490 yuan (about $800).
The 360 Eye came in last place on the rice test, picking up just 2.18 ounces on the plush carpet, 1.85 ounces on the berber-style carpet, and 2.13 ounces on the hardwood floor. At the same time, the Neato Botvac Connected picked up significantly more rice on each flooring surface. To block its path you will have to shut doors or put up barricades. Providing this isn’t an issue you have the Dyson name and up to a five-year warranty to back the machine. It does leave a bad taste in my mouth for the level of clean is does not do. However, as part of a regular cleaning program, the floors can stay clean with regular use.
Moving furniture doesn’t matter, as the map is constantly being updated on every cleaning cycle. Even if you relocated the vacuum and charging station prior to the next cleaning cycle, there wouldn’t be many issues in navigation. However, the vacuum goes in ten-foot grid areas to cover the floor, ensuring it covers every possible square foot. Dyson previously showed off another robot vacuum cleaner – the DC06 – in 2001, but cancelled the project a few years later, in part because it would have cost consumers $3,000 (£1,820) or more. That’s because it appeared to have more actual suction than many other robot vacuums we’ve seen, and it also seemed to navigate a room less chaotically than much of the competition. That’s where we got some hands-on time with Dyson’s first ever robot vacuum.

The Dyson V8 Animal (£300) offers up to 40 minutes of charge and uses Dyson’s Direct Drive technology to pick up dirt across both carpets and hard floors. It can also be speedily adjusted to a handheld for those closer cleaning jobs. The Eufy hybrid robot vacuum has you covered for both picking up dirt and deep cleaning the floor. Thanks to the 2-in-1 hybrid design, the robot can mop while it’s vacuuming for an efficient clean.
The camera sensors need light to work, and if you turn off all your lights, neither vacuum will be able to “see” and won’t clean very well, if at all. The 360 Eye, though, to specifically answer your question is 4.72 inches in height and will need another half to full inch clearance. If your furniture is not at least five and a half inches off the ground, the robot won’t go under it. Keeping them clear of tangles and debris is crucial to the functionality of the vacuum. Removing them bars and clearing them off is a simple task for the Roomba 980.
Don’t remember how well the suction was when comparing the two, but it was pretty similar i think. Yeah the roborock doesn’t suck for the full width of the machine like the Dyson, but honestly it picks up what I throw it at it. RoMan gets a little bit of help when a human supervisor points out a region of the branch where grasping might be most effective.
That’s a whole 1,000 yuan (about $146) less than the 360 Eye when it first entered China in May last year, which is somewhat indicative of Dyson’s robotic ambition while facing the likes of Neato and iRobot. Another reason Dyson’s bot works so well is its shark cordless companion app. The 360 Eye can connect to your Wi-Fi network, and is then accessible via the Dyson Link app. This will let it regularly grab updates from Dyson and install them automatically, which the company says will improve performance over time.
