On the front face, aside from the toggles, an RTH/pause button sits with a switch for the three flight modes, and two small function buttons. It’s clean, like the drone itself, and lends confidence dji drones to the operator. Indeed, before camera-equipped drones came along, you would have needed to hire a helicopter at massive expense to take aerial shots of your house or some fantastic geographical scene. Hence, camera performance should always be the first consideration when choosing a drone for cinematography purposes and this is where the Mavic Air 2 excels over the Mini 2 – but not by a massive amount.
I appreciate how subtle and effective these adjustments are. Another thing that makes it more enjoyable to fly are the stronger motors. It makes the drone able to sustain high winds on par with some of the more powerful DJI drones, like the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom. At no point during my testing was I ever worried about losing control.

Video was sharp with no artifacting, and the Mini 2’s gimbals were so steady that there were no jitters as I panned and moved the drone around. On your old Mavic Pro obstacle avoidance was pretty basic. And if you’re trying to do any sort of obstacle tracking, it’s basically required for anything other than wide open fields.
