We don’t recommend grills with side burners because we don’t think that extra feature is worth the $100-plus markup. As for the dedicated “searing zone,” we don’t think it’s necessary, since we’ve never had trouble grilling steaks and chops with dark brown crusts on either of our picks. We think you’re better off saving over $200 with the Spirit II E-310. But if you want to splurge on a grill with exceptional temperature control, go for our upgrade pick, the Weber Genesis II E-310. Our tests were designed and run by Wirecutter senior staff writer Lesley Stockton, who has a decade of experience in professional kitchens, much of it spent on the grill station.
Operatives will also be tasked with increasing their level to 35, and outfitting themselves with new 5-star gear. That means you’ll be upgrading and creating new multi-weapons, obtaining and leveling new armor, and augmenting each new piece you get, as you reach the next tier of power. Leveling your character and the battle power grind has gotten a little better, along with the inclusion of a new Mag ability that lets you set your Mag to detect specific materials that you’re looking for. This way, if you’re stumped on trying to find specific materials, your handy Mag can ping you when you’re near them. It may not be the pet-like Mag from PSO2, but it’s useful and a likely precursor to more features in the future. The wide surface area allows you to cook multiple food items, and being able to reach each portion without navigating around a low-hanging warming rack is a pleasant change.
The new infinity igniters that come with a 10 year warranty promises to take care of those lighting up hassles almost for good. The Weber Genesis II E-310 is a premium gas grill, large enough to cater for a busy barbecue. However, the spirit is slightly more durable thanks to its stainless-steel components, while the genesis is a few pounds lighter and easier to move around if required. The burners have been designed to be more durable and provide better heat distribution. For example, you can turn the side knob to light the middle burner while leaving your left or right burners off so that only a small part of the grill is lit up.

Finally, though we used them for comparison (and a sense of what’s possible in a grill, for a price), we did not test grills from high-end makers such as Hestan, Lynx/Sedona, and MHP.
And we had no problems with flare-ups, the grease fires that produce charring and acrid smoke. For the high-heat, whole-grate burger test—an indicator of the grills’ ability to pump out uniform, high heat without creating an inferno—we heated the grills on high with their lids down for 15 minutes . We then oiled the grates and distributed 12 to 15 6-ounce patties across the whole cooking surface. While the burgers cooked we kept an eye out for flare-ups—they’re not desirable, as they char the meat and create rancid smoke—and looked at the evenness of cooking on the different areas of the grates. After about 10 minutes of cooking , we compared how well each grill had seared the burgers, looked for any patties that were charred or still unacceptably raw, and took a taste. There’s something uncanny about the correlation between warm weather and an overwhelming desire for a good burger .
Additional features include 12,000 BTU side burner and 9,000 BTU sear station. The enclosed cart is great for storage and has 2 large wheels and front casters. The Genesis grills are very efficient in design and hold on to heat very well, but withabout 75 BTUs per square inch of primary cooking surface, there are more powerful grills out there. Efficiency will only go so far and we have found that this model, like the previous 3-burner model, is a little slower to heat up and tends to not get as hot as some competing products. We have not, however, found this to be a serious issue with the performance.
Lifting the hood, you get the by now familiar Weber porcelain enamel cast iron grates that give you those lovely thick sear marks on your food. There’s also a stainless steel warming rack, adding additional cooking space. Over the course of four days in Spring 2017, we put our weber genesis 2 gas grills through a battery of tests designed to demonstrate their qualities and highlight their differences. We cooked burgers on high heat to see how well the grills seared meat and how intense and even was the heat they could generate across the whole grate surface.
