I love the silage and it lasts and lasts . The dry down works because it lasts really well. I don’t care what other notes it has and how quality the ingredients are…. Syrup for ages, a headache inducing sweetness that I could barely tolerate on others but never on myself.
An opening – the best part IMO – sweet fruity floreal, not unpleasant, neither memorable. The drydown doesn’t make me crazy, it is a bit too sweet and I am not super fan neither of tonka nor of patchouli. But, likely, they are not overwhelming.
Words were spoken, and I implored her not to buy that one, since you know…signature & worked literally 4 metres apart. She drowned herself in it every morning. It’s a nice scent and it is strong. However I think it is too Lancome makeup floral for me, and I also think it would suit someone 50+. Smells like sweets that have been dropped on the floor of a dusty abandoned attic and left to go mouldy. Nauseating and cloying and unfortunately lasts forever.
Still happily screeching along it went. I’m not getting Praline note, or pear note. I don’t know why, but she kind of reminds me of airports. Not as in the smell of airports, but the feeling of traveling and the sleek design of cities viewable from a terminal. The feeling of excitement as you get onto a plane, and being anxious to see that someone you’re flying over oceans for.
But this fragrance is on a different level. I bought this fragrance as a blind purchase and I was even a little scared thinking it may be too mature for me but this fragrance… It’s sweet, beautiful and in a classy yet down for business type of way.
It’s way too sweet for my taste and, on top of that, it is predictable too. What a disappointment, although I’m sure it will have lots of fans. And no, I haven’t smelled that one yet, Lancome makeup but I heard it’s a nice and understated winter scent. Anyone who loves sweet gourmand scents, like Flowerbomb. The fragrance opens with a fruity blend of pear and blackcurrant.
I won’t even say that I feel guilty about it. La Vie Est Belle certainly deserves a try, if only because familiar things can sometimes be comforting. I’m an 80’s child, so I lived through the popularity of some wonderful scents… Post 2000, I started to not like the newer scents on the market. My husband used to travel internationally, and would be sure to bring home “goodies” for the family – usually from duty free. On one trip, he surprised me with a bottle of this and I was, initially, not so sure.
I’m selling it to one of my friends. I wouldn’t recommend but I can see why some people like it. The bottle is pretty but sadly I just can’t stand that perfume. After spraying it once I went into a car with my mom and she asked if it’s the new perfume I bought and that she doesn’t like it and opened the window.
