The Dyson V15, V11 Outsize, Torque Drive, and V10 Absolute all have three power settings – eco, mid, and boost. All four vacuums passed the fog test without any visible leaks, so the seals around the dust container are good to keep dust from seeping through the exhaust and seals. Even the Omni-Glide with its more compact frame has it, so Dyson is committed to utilizing this feature in their vacuums. Each of these vacuums has a trombone-like lever that forces debris out as you push it forward.
After every cleaning session, the graph shows how much dust you’ve removed. To reset the graph, charge the vacuum for 30 dyson robot vacuum minutes or remove the battery for 15 seconds. Dyson says the graph can help you determine when you’re done cleaning.
In addition to the new head , the new vacuum actually employs a sensor to keep track of what it’s grabbing. Less useful than the laser, but it’s fun to log your stats. The new $400 Dyson Omni-Glide is targeted at urban apartment dwellers. This model has a slimmer, lighter design, and comes with a new “omnidirectional fluffy cleaner head” that’s built for squeezing into tight spaces and corners. Dyson claims this green light highlights grime directly in front of the V15’s fluffy cleaner head.
The technology in the High Torque cleaner head is slightly different than that in the Hair Screw tool and this is shown in our video below. The laser feature on the Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head actually works . It is designed to highlight hidden dust/debris on hard surfaces by shining shark cordless a laser at just the right angle along the floor. In addition, we have read many, many V15 owner reviews and found that most folks really like the laser feature. A piezo sensor continuously sizes and counts dust particles – automatically increasing suction power when needed3.
The flexible movement across the floor is really handy, you don’t have to bend your own body to get every corner clean, the head goes easily under the cabinets, seat etc… We used the laser slim flubby floor nozzle on top of our laminate . You can see very well where you still have to go with the vacuum cleaner. However, with this head we cannot completely go under the bed . After reading some tips on the accessories, we also used the helical tangle-free brush on the carpets.
This was surprising as our experience with Dyson cordless machines usually shows the manufacturer’s figures to be conservative. However it should be noted that the V15 did produce a longer run time than the manufacturer’s suggested figures in BOOST mode. The readout on the back of the machine gives you an idea of how much work your vacuum cleaner is doing. It’s not necessary but it is an interesting talking point. To stop all that dust filtering back out into the air, there is a washable Hepa filter that will trap particles up to 0.1 microns in size.
