I’d like to see a version with lumed hour markers, painted minute markers and positive LCDs. I wonder if the black one with the gray hour markers has lume on those markers. Unsurprisingly, Casio has continued to capitalize on the popularity of the series by releasing a new line of slightly smaller Casioaks . The watches are marketed as being for women, but in my opinion, some of the colors could also be worn by a man who prefers smaller sized watches. I won’t delve too deep into the debate over watches and gender here, plus Cara Bennett discussed it much more eloquently than I ever could. The plastic case measures 45mm in diameter but, as previously mentioned, wears significantly smaller on the wrist. The lugs are so short they are almost nonexistent, and flow smoothly into the strap, ensuring a comfy fit on pretty much any sized wrist. As well, the case is wafer-thin compared to most other watches that leave the G-Shock laboratory, measuring a slender 11.4mm thick.
I limited myself to only one, but at $100 and relatively available, you don’t have to exhibit the same ill-advised self-control that I did. It’s a bolder, brighter pink than the previous blush pink, but honestly, the tone still transcends gender and I’d have no problem wearing this one. The previous, more subtle pink is the choice for me, but I totally get how a bolder, more confident person might go rose. I slipped one on my wrist and immediately was smitten.

Many people expressed interest in how different the watch looked after the modification. While I did note that the bracelet wasn’t particularly comfortable on the wrist, I agreed that the g shock protection was one of the coolest looking modified watches I’d ever held in my hands. All in, the Mini CasiOak measures 46.2 x 42.9 x 11.2 millimeters, one of the most wearable G-Shocks around. Just when I finalythought I had my “one more watch”…. I hope it’s totally oversized so I don’t like it. This is the first watch I’ve said oh my God out loud too in a long time.. One of the hottest new G-Shock releases, thin and light, super comfortable.
