I am a big fan of rose and flowery scents, and this is a great example of that. Perfect for summer, light and feminine. I prefer this over La Vie Est Belle a 100 hundred times.

idole lancome

Smells similar to method pure peace body wash which is rose water and peony. But after that when the base notes come out all I can smell is a weird masculine patchouli. There’s no patchouli in this so idk what I’m smelling, it must be the musk. I’ll have to test this out a little more…as of now idk if it’s full bottle worthy. I bought this to cheer me up during the first lockdown in Australia. Being a blind buy it did not disappoint but didn’t exactly whoo me either.

To me, Idole smells nice, clean, pleasant and totally forgettable. I am glad I bought the smallest bottle, which I gifted to a relative almost immediately. It opens juicy and sweet-tart—the bergamot and pear genifique emphasizing the crisp freshness of the rose. The musk, vanilla, and sweet, powdery jasmine envelope the rose accord and dampen its crispness . In opening, it’s very feminine and sweet, almost too sweet.

The first thing I have to say in this review is I absolutely love the packaging. I’ve seen complaints about the bottle, but I personally love the design. The sprayer also pushes out a very fine mist which is always a plus. If the Idole were longer lasting, it would be a divine perfume.

At first spray, I wasn’t keen on the pear note, it was too harsh, but this settles after about 15 minutes and it turns into a lovely fresh rose and jasmine perfume. The vanilla isn’t obvious at all, but it is there adding some sweetness to the base. It smells Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR nice, but a bit chemically. I tend to like simpler more modern fragrances I’m a fan of rose scents, and the initial scent is quite nice, but nothing special. Idole is a modern chypre that centres on an olfactory dynamic powered by rose, jasmine and patchouli.

Used it 2/3 times and I’ve no regret at all. Try it I’m sure anyone would like it. I didn’t expect myself to like this one so much! Usually these kinds of fresh fruity florals aren’t for me but wow..

I really loved this when I first time got a good sniff and bought a whole bottle. It was something really soothing and at the same time weirdly crispy? Sadly, after 1 month I really began dislike this scent and found out that really overpowering rose scents are not for me. It starts to to became cloyingly sweet and it lingers on my clothes and not in a good way.

Enveloping the fragrance like a cocoon, notes of bergamot explode with juicy pear and a touch of pink peppercorn. Lancome has many powerful statement-perfumes, but not many everyday freshie-type frangrances like this. The only one I can think of is Miracle, which came out two decades ago. I think it’s understandable that Lancome wanted to come out with an updated, more modern version of an everyday fresh-floral scent. Makes me think of D&G Light Blue, but with sweet roses mixed in.
