Even without solar, you’re getting great value for your money with this one – especially considering that it’s often on sale for ~$60. Even with its large size, the watch has a great fit thanks to plastic wings that sit under the watch bed. The wings wrap around your wrist and provide sturdiness to the watch so that it does not move on your wrist. The plate prevents magnetic fields from interfering with proper movement of the hands in daily use. 1/1000-second stopwatch, velocity indicator, World Time, 5 alarms and much more provides these models with unmatched function and performance.

If you’re on a budget, you won’t find a better compass watch than the G9300 Mudman. The band is curved stiffly at the point of connection with the case, moreover, enabling it to serve as a shock absorber and prevent direct shocks to the back of the case. It’s one of the higher-end models of the collection that’s created for the brave adventurers. Or in some case, perfect for extreme environments and large wrists. Watches in this series have functions like Tough Solar, and Multi-Band 6, Triple Sensor. If you travel a lot and you like the functions, it’s an ideal buy.

It’s not the newest model, but it’s still the best package. The new Rangeman offers more functions, but the usability of the old model is still better, due to the slower screen and the crown of the new Rangeman. There are the G-STEEL models that are versatile enough for formal situations while maintaning their tough looks. Twin Sensor – Twin Sensor models come with Digital Compass and Thermometer only – no altimeter/barometer. Twin sensor is the older version of the Triple Sensor and is the cheapest way to get yourself a compass G-Shock. The Mudman G-9300 model is a great example of a relatively affordable G-Shock that comes with a Twin Sensor.

One of the most common watch models among the military is now available in a more consumer-friendly edition. With prominent Arabic numerals that almost decorate the critical time markers, the face is easy to see even under harsh environmental circumstances, suggesting that this is a suitable military watch. Casio’s decision to incorporate extraordinarily vivid LED backlighting further adds to this. Casio has thoughtfully made their buttons more difficult to press to reduce the chance of mistakenly pressing them.

But many of the Master of G series premium watches come close to it in size. You might also like the oversized GA100 series which are also among the biggest G-Shocks ever made. World Time – The World Time feature allows you to easily change between timezones. They usually include 31 time zones and 48 cities you can choose from. On most G-Shocks, you’ll also get the dual time feature allowing you to monitor two time zones at once. Triple Sensor G-Shocks come with Compass, Thermometer, and Altimeter/Barometer functionality – all on your wrist.

I like the styling, solar & atomic timekeeping aspects of the watch but there are 2 issues that drop my rating to 3 stars. First & foremost is that for many years I’ve been using g shock protection my watches alarm function rather than an alarm clock. The alarm volume on this watch is so low that it’s useless. I’m even a light sleeper & it’s almost inaudible when I’m awake.

It’s still anti-magnetic, and the smaller optical face displays a dual time. It’s medium-large if you will – certainly not a small watch. It comes in multiple styles, but my favorite is the military black. There is also a “regular” black & red Mudman that looks more similar to other G-Shock watches. One important difference to note is that the GA700 is one of the few G-Shocks that come with a front EL backlight button. This model also comes with a hand-shift feature that allows you to move the hands of watch away to read the digital screens for a few seconds. It has no unnecessary features and sticks strictly to the basics.
