Casio G

The negative display can be hard to read, particularly in glare or medium light. It’s a simple and straightforward solar watch – all you have to do is put in your city, and the watch will do the rest. As you can see from the retro design, this model has been around for more than 15 years and is still going strong. As with GA110 above, the main appeal of G-Shock GA700 is in its looks. It’s a big, rugged and masculine watch that’ll take any abuse you throw at it. The watch is light for its size, which makes it comfortable to wear.

Other features include world time, 5 daily alarms with 1 snooze alarm, stopwatch, and countdown timer. The dark gray GA700UC-8A from the GA-700UC Utility Color Series is one of three models with military-inspired colors. The low-temperature LCD screen makes the watch great for mountaineering, but also working in a laboratory’s cold room. Very clear and easy to read at a glance with white hands on black background. Digital display is adequate size, bigger than some other casios, but I would like to see bigger. Nice that it has the feature to move the hands out of the way of digital display if needed.

Now if a watch has an official ISO certified water resistance rating, then none of the aforementioned problems should ever be an issue. This holds true for any depth up to the depth that the watch is rated for. Then for many watches that are water resistant, you can damage the watch when pressing the buttons underwater. This is because button presses underwater can cause water to leak in.

The Classic G-SHOCK watch is one of very few that puts analog design ahead of its digital functionality. However, that does not mean it’s devoid of the new features that G-SHOCK fans have come to expect. The G-SHOCK Classic features a long-lasting 1/100-second stopwatch and an automatic calendar, and the luminosity is amazingly bright. The G-SHOCK watch was designed to be the strongest watch on the planet when it was first introduced.

It takes the basic concept of the DW6900 and reduces it to a more affordable version. The effect is precise timekeeping synchronised to the atomic clock and a build that meets G-SHOCK’s high expectation for durability. To aid ease of reading the built-in compass, there is a rotating bezel that is numerically labelled. This G-SHOCK model is unusual in that it has both optical and analogue displays for timekeeping. Due to the size, G-SHOCK watches are often marketed to a male market.

Although, at the other end a bright future was waiting ahead for the Casio G-Shock. Surprisingly, when in North America an advertisement featuring a hockey player wearing g shock protection the G-shock’s next-generation model (the DW-5200C) was played people became persuaded to purchase it. And this was the point when the G-Shock’ growth gained momentum.

Casio’s released this model with modern minimalist looks – check out the full black and full green models to see if you like them better. G-Shock G100 is the most affordable analog G-Shock you can buy. With its basic features, the watch is easy and intuitive to use, which is its main selling point and what people love about it the most. In short, this watch has everything that you might expect from a cheap digital beater and then some more. The backlight illuminates the entire screen, giving you perfect visibility.

Another wgreat G Shock, in my opinion, anyway, is the GDX-6900, the XL version of the DW6900. The GDX has a 10-year battery, and the size is fine for my wrist. I have the blacked-out version, and have no problem reading the negative display. I think it’s a discontinued model, but it’s a really nice watch and a great addition to my collection. G-Shock is the ultimate “bang for the buck” watch, but that’s especially true for the cheaper models.
