Fill it up with a garden hose, add the proper chemicals and you have a pool that’s up and running in a matter of hours. Intex swimming pools must be placed on a flat, level surface consisting of grass, compacted dirt or pavement. Never place the pool on mud, wooden decks, balconies or any other elevated surface.

Next use the little black rubber cap to plug the return from the inside of the pool and disconnect the hose and put it on the ground. Some water will drain out of the hose, but you shouldn’t lose too much. You won’t be losing any water from the hose and the little black cap inside the pool is preventing water from draining through the return. Many smaller pools and pumps use smaller 1.25 inch hoses. These hoses are usually clear and connected to the pool or pumps with hose clamps. These hoses are usually white and have fittings that screw on to attach to the pool or pumps.
Keep in mind that the systems these pools do come with are cartridge filters and pumps. We love these and they’re super easy to maintain, but some people prefer other types of filters. These come in a pretty big variety of sizes but also come in various shapes, so you can install them in any size and shape of yard. They’re also extremely affordable, easy to set up, and easy to take down.
