It’s made with lightweight metal and fine resin components that don’t sacrifice the durability the brand is known for. The bracelet band on the new MTGB2000D is made with partially hollow stainless-steel segments that encase the fine resin inserts, meaning it weighs about 15 percent less than the previous MT-G model. G-Shock is a line of watches manufactured by Casio, designed to resist mechanical shock and vibration. They are designed primarily for sports, military and outdoors-oriented activities; nearly all G-Shocks are digital or a combination of analog or digital and have a stopwatch feature.

In April of 1983, the G-SHOCK DW-5000C was unveiled, and a TV news station tested out the watch live, including whacking it with a hockey stick, as if it was a puck. The G-SHOCK timepiece survived, and the world was introduced to the legendary line. One slight oddity with the GSH-H1000 is that Casio included very few watchfaces. You only get an information-dense digital face, a basic analog option, and one that matches the layout of the monochrome LCD. That latter setting was my favorite because it felt less jarring shifting between always-on and active display modes. Obviously, you can download whatever watchface you like from the Play Store, but it’s clear that Casio designed this watch around the dual-layer mode.

One of the most hardwearing watch lines out there is Casio’s G-SHOCK series. Underneath that monochrome display is a fully circular 1.2-inch 360 x 360 LCD screen. It feels quite small relative to the rest of the watch, but it isn’t difficult to use, and I like that it doesn’t dominate the watch’s design. The bigger problem is that it just doesn’t look great compared to the OLED panels used in most smartwatches — it’s quite low in contrast and isn’t easily visible in bright sunlight. The monochrome layer, however, can be left on all the time and is much more glanceable if you don’t need to use it for anything complicated. The GW-9400 Rangeman and GWN-1000 Gulfmaster models have a Triple Sensor with a digital compass, thermometer, and barometer/altimeter. The MTG-S1000, GW-A1000, and GPW-1000 feature Triple G Resist which includes resistance to shock, centrifugal gravity, and vibration. In 2014, Casio introduced the GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor feature in the GPW-1000 Gravitymaster that allows the watch to synchronize the time through GPS signals and also adjusts the time zone automatically. The G-SHOCK GWRB1000X-1A limited edition Gravity Master watch has a breathtaking monocoque case made entirely from carbon fiber. It has Triple G Resist construction, making it vibration, shock, and centrifugal force-resistant, which means it’s one of the toughest timepieces on the block.

Just as rumors have been floating about a possible rugged Apple Watch, Casio has unveiled its first G-Shock rugged smartwatch using Google’s Wear OS platform. The GSW-H1000, part of Casio’s rugged baby g shock G-Squad Pro lineup, has a host of sports features and is also the first G-Shock watch with a color display. The color of black and grey is more accurately described as a dark grey and light grey.

They were designed for snowboarding and skateboarding competitors and competitions. The only difference is that these models came with nylon velcro bands. This is the newest additional signal; older multi-band 5 watches will not be able to connect to this signal, and must be upgraded to a newer multi-band 6 watch in order to synchronise from there. A team of three individuals was selected by Ibe which was known as “team tough”. The team had assembled and tested nearly 200 prototypes but were still not able to achieve the conception criteria.

For over 30 years, G-SHOCK has been building on that original technology, and has evolved into one of the toughest luxury watch brands in history. It’s one of the higher-end models of the collection that’s created for the brave adventurers. Watches in this series have functions like Tough Solar, and Multi-Band 6, Triple Sensor. It’s more or less meant for large people, who want extra durability for their watches in the case of extra shocks and vibrations. The brand does this well enough to an extent that the GX-56BB is regarded as one of the toughest watches in the collection. With that, it’s only normal that the watches turn to be a bit chunky, though with the square case , being called bold would be better.
