Shock resistant, water resistant, and mud and dust resistant too, there’s little that will damage it. It means even if I don’t live the lifestyle that demands such a tough watch, it won’t be phased by everyday knocks and accidents. In black, the Mudmaster GG-B100 baby g shock has a stealthy style and arguably the best looking of the three new models. A classic military green and black model is also available, along with a striking orange and black version. The Mudmaster has been designed to withstand the toughest of conditions.
Quad Sensor capabilities pack compass, altitude / barometer, temperature and accelerometer features into one easy-to-read face. The Casio G-Shock Mudmaster is a rugged and waterproof analogue/digital watch packed with features including an altimeter for pilots or mountain trails. It’s inspired by pilots watches of the past with a GMT multi time zone function and buttons inspired by a jet fighter stick and sword hands and domed glass like the famous Rolex Milsub.
However, it’s left out of a watch that is marketed to spend its life outside and will force you to change them roughly every 2 years. Like most G-Shocks, the Mudmaster comes will all the standard features, a stopwatch feature, 5 alarms (with snooze!) and 31 world times. Maybe even the extreme sports guys wouldn’t use these features, but they’re there and fun to use in daily life. Like the Yeti SP5C Bike, the Casio is made for extreme conditions and abuse. It takes its name from the Mud Resist system of gaskets in the pipes that keep mud and dust out of the watch.
Approved by the FAA, G-Shock designed the first solar-assisted GPS navigation and reception watch that are preferred by pilots all over the globe. In addition, Triple Sensor Version 3 capabilities provide instant access to direction, barometric pressure, and temperature information when needed under tough conditions. Forged carbon is often used in aircraft and motorsports as it is lighter than stainless steel, with a superior tensile strength. The irregular mixture of carbon fibres and resin has been used to form the entire mid-section of the case, including the lugs and guard claws, that protect the watch’s metal bezel and crown.
Certainly, we see Casio continuing its iterative approach to product improvement by building on what they have done in the past — but having said that, this G-Shock is radically different from models made just a few years ago. New features, such as Casio’s use of carbon material, as well as the new case construction, g shock protection mean that the look and feel of the GG-B100 are worth experiencing even if the model isn’t right for you. Casio did an excellent job, and I find myself liking the GG-B100 as a product as much as I did the G-Shock GW9400 Rangeman. The G-SHOCK Mudmaster GG-B100 is a purpose-built, bombproof watch for all outdoorsmen.
Number next in our mention list is the G Shock Mud Master GG-B100-1ADR, a remarkable model available in 4 different color ranges. As the earlier GG model, this too offers you a lot of specifications to take advantage from. Following this, the second mention in our review list is the G-Shock Mud Master GWG A1DR, a more advanced approach to the earlier mentioned model. The Casio Gravity Defier GA1100 is a new approach to the last year’s Gravity Defier GW1100 and it comes with improved accuracy, exciting new functions and a different backpanel. As a conclusion, I consider that this is a G-Shock that has an added feel of refinement due to the design, quality of materials and incredible craftsmanship that Casio proved to be capable of.
This is a great G-Shock for people who also want a sense of style from their multi-functional watch. It easily survived the bumpy ride, being totally submerged in mud, an encounter with a hostile local, and an ATV that seemed to catch fire briefly. Of course, that’s a fraction of what the Mudmaster is built to withstand and just a small piece of the performance it promises, and the GGB100 packs new durability features and tech at a characteristically approachable price. For 2019, the new flagship Casio G-Shock watch in the $300-$400 USD range is the Mudmaster GG-B100 model family. It consists of a few color variations, with this mostly black-toned reference GGB100-1A being the version I reviewed.
You can find this model in a greyish color tone, which not only is durable and tough to wear under harsh environment, but also completes your outlook in a very different manner. Another one from the same collaboration in color khaki which looks quite different as compared to the black one. Same in specification but with a different outlook the G Shock Mud Master GG-B100BA-1ADR has a black dialer against khaki Resin band.
Going back to the dial, legibility is excellent for an analog Casio watch. Casio’s work on contrast as a concept on analog dials is getting better and better each year, and the brand is still producing designs that are visually engaging and detailed. I do, however, want to see Casio work with better luminant in the future. They probably don’t put too much stock in it since this and all other G-Shock watches have a bright white LED backlight for the dial.
