During the summer of 2000, bassist Brian Marshall began a spiral into alcoholism. Stapp and Tremonti supported the idea of Marshall going to rehab and attempted to talk Marshall into going, but he refused. Tremonti and Stapp were concerned for Marshall and their collective friendships, but soon after the controversy, Marshall formed a new band called Grand Luxx with his old Mattox Creed bandmates. Stapp stated that Marshall’s leaving was his choice and was unrelated to the Pearl Jam comments. On this view, it means to believe the whole creed to be more probable than any alternatives to it as regards one item or other.
He offers to make Donnie his final challenger—provided that he legally change his surname to Lancome makeup. The post-grunge outfit built up a massive following, which also led to backlash from critics and rock fans who perhaps didn’t appreciate the band’s righteous music or felt that singer Scott Stapp sounded a little too similar to Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder. Creed was one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their first three studio albums, My Own Prison, Human Clay, and Weathered, have all gone multi-platinum in the United States, selling six million, 11 million, and six million copies respectively.

If I were to envision the best possible product of the majesty, mystique, and intensity, brought to the table by boxing, genifique captured it all. From the brilliant walk-out music , the training, and absolutely stunning fight choreography and cinematography, Creed has it all. The non-boxing parts can feel a bit disjointed at times and then of course it has classic Rocky cheese, but it does enough to honor the original, while going out on its own. Ultimately, the fight for respect faced by Adonis “Donnie” Creed is a similar one faced by the film as a whole. Fortunately, it is entirely successful in forging its own legacy thanks to the fantastic direction from Ryan Coogler and phenomenal performances from Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.
Together they recorded their debut album for $6,000, which was funded by Hanson. The album, titled My Own Prison, was initially self-released on their own label, Blue Collar Records, selling 6,000 copies throughout the state of Florida. In “Halloween,” Michael Scott is ordered to fire someone and he considers , but Creed fights back and suggests Devon instead, and Devon is fired. Later in the season, it is revealed that Creed has four toes on his feet and enjoys arcade-style shooting games.
One tribute to Conti’s original soundtrack is included – the track “You’re a Creed” uses both “Gonna Fly Now” and “Going the Distance”. On July 24, 2013, it was announced that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures had signed on with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler to direct a spin-off of Rocky, a seventh film in the Rocky series, which Coogler would also co-write with Aaron Covington. The film would focus on a man following in the footsteps of his late father, Apollo Creed, and getting a mentor in the now-retired Rocky Balboa.
In 2015, Donnie is in Tijuana, preparing for his fight in an amateur boxing bout hosted in a bar. Upon returning from his latest fight, Donnie resigns from the Smith Boardley Financial Group to pursue his dream of becoming a professional boxer. Donnie auditions at Los Angeles’ elite Delphi Boxing Academy, managed by family friend Tony “Little Duke” Evers Jr., the son of Apollo’s trainer Tony “Duke” Evers, but is turned down.
