For long-time Casio lovers, I think a Casioak model is a no-brainer. I love mine and, having had the GM-2100 in my hand and on my wrist, will certainly baby g shock consider adding a metal variation to the stable. Surely that’s what the people for whom Casio has made these watches desired, right?

With that case shape and integrated bracelet, if you like to wear your watches snug on your wrist, you will need a large wrist not to have this wear slightly loose. For comparison, my wrist is 7.5, and I felt it wore fine, but I do tend to wear my watches on bracelets somewhat looser than my strapped watches. A few other notables include 5611 quartz movement, a resin and carbon composite case, stainless steel case back, super illuminator with Auto Light , and 200-meter water resistant. The digital display is tiny in comparison to other models by Casio – you are not using this easily to track your run times or check the time in Moscow even if it is capable of both. The lume has also decided to take the stealth option, it’s there on the hands but it’s so faint and discreet it might be unnoticed 5 minutes after the light being switched off. The digi display has a light but this has a time limit so you will find yourself pressing it multiple times in order to read anything useful.
The 45mm GA A1ER “Stealth” model has been designed to present a full blackout dial picture and the slightly smaller 43mm GMA-S2100-1AER which is also predominantly black but with polished rose gold indices and hands. Light, comfortable, very high eye appeal for the money, main hands surprisingly readable, other features not so much and I like how it doesn’t scream G Shock in design, size and case wording. Those with narrower wrists don’t even think about the watch not fitting properly or seeming overly wide, which is a common issue with bigger G-Shock watches. Even though the display is bigger than the DW-5600, it wears similarly. It’s really an analog-digital version of the earlier DW-5600 with a few more functions.
An attractive, minimalist feature analog/digital G-SHOCK that puts a traditional spin on classic Square aesthetics. A smart brand extension that’s entranced both G-SHOCK fans and traditional watch enthusiasts. The G-SHOCK GA-2100 doesn’t all the digital bells and whistles associated with the brand. It’s form-follows-function minimalism combined with G-SHOCK durability, reliability and rugged good looks.
A unique and defining design, the most striking element of the watch was, and still is, its octagonal bezel which is based on the outer hatch of an old-style diving helmet. I recently picked up this version and love it. I had the original G-Shock that I bought at Service Merchandise in ME back in the early 80s. This version is great and I love the analog /digital complications. I haven’t found the band or buckle to be overly cheap and they seem commensurate with the quality of the watch itself. I do like the world-time function as it displays the time of oddball timezones such as India and it’s handy when scheduling meetings.
