It takes less than five minutes to stir up a batch of old-fashioned vanilla, mint chocolate chip, pineapple sorbet, strawberry cream, or almost any other flavor. As the paddles churn the mixture against the sides of the bowl, it gradually freezes into ice cream. Because they require such a long pre-freeze time, you can only make one bowl at a time and they’re not ideal for spontaneous spinning. Add the sliced strawberries to the ice cream in the last 5 minutes of churning. Stop the machine in 25 minutes – mixture will be soft and creamy, like soft serve. Place the ice cream into a freezer safe container to set for several hours, or overnight. Add the nuts to the ice cream in the last 5 minutes of churning.

This makes up to four quarts of ice cream, so you’ll have plenty for parties. The two-quart bowl should be fully frozen for 24 hours before use to ensure that your ice cream freezes properly.
