I associate it with my dad which is why it feels like an ‘old’ fragrance, but it definitely is dated regardless of that association. I feel limited wearing this as a lot of people I come into contact with don’t like it. Friends that have smelled it often have a face of disgust and say that it smells like a grandpa, or that it is strong, but I rarely have experienced someone actually liking it. The dry-down maintains the green, woody vibe, and the patchouli, oakmoss, vetiver, leather and tobacco keep it dark and mature. I do also get the geranium, jasmine and chamomile.
A true Masterpiece of art in fragrance. All others should bow down before the great green Polo god. There are more than enough reviews here covering the way it smells, so I won’t go into that, except to say that this smells fantastic.
This is a love from me and I believe that if you love greenness, nature and green, spicy, herbal, grassy fragrances generally, then you will love ralph lauren t shirt this. Definitely one to try and wear first. Still a great and unique smell even today. Best way I can describe it is that it smells like money.
Absolute classic real mans fragrance strong and masculine love it. I keep it because I love the bottle and the memories, but I wouldn’t (and couldn’t) wear it anymore. I will always have Polo in my collection, even if I decided to shrink it down to only 10 fragrances. Of course I loved this back when I was in college. And now I had my hubby try it and it was glorious, still. All those green notes, tobacco , spices to add complexity.
But, I have difficulties getting over the “green swamp opening” and that’s the reason I can only give it a “like” or “ok” instead of a “love”. If you want to smell very classic , this is a good choice. Performance is good; projection is excellent, and it lasted about six hours on me. They mostly smell off and i will proof it to everybody once time travel is invented. Become a member of this online perfume community and you will be able to add your own reviews.
