Using Tour Magazine’s testing protocol, Giant claims 26% more stiffness when compared to the Emonda, 16.6% giant ROAD BIKES over the R5 and 9.8% more than the Tarmac. Compared to its predecessor, the frame has been given aerodynamically optimised, truncated ellipse tubing throughout, and the down tube has grown in diameter from 54mm to 65mm. While the cycling – and wider – world is in unfamiliar and unprecedented territory, Giant has treated us all to a semblance of normality with the launch of its new TCR, in which it claims improvements in aerodynamics, stiffness and weight.
Prototype testing of the 9th generation TCR Advanced SL begins with CCC Team pro racers. I get the simplicity, and i guess the rating even make sense but i would assume that this is only the case because of outliers such as the Mountain bikes, or the Buffallo bike. This means the TCR Advanced SL Disc is better than approximately 1/2 of the road frames in game, in terms of aero performance. The Advanced Pro frames share the same geometry as the relevant headline counterparts, but are built with a different grade of carbon material to provide a more affordable option.
