An Intense flanker of this fragrance has been on sale for at least 2 weeks at this point and was announced more than a month ago, and it STILL does not have a page on Fragrantica. This is a massive fragrance release, but Fragrantica is too busy talking about the “fragrance brands” that are founded from hipsters’ garages in Seattle and Portland every week. Whenever I get a new green juice scent first thing comes to mind is this Polo green. The memories of a nice deep oily green and dry woody scent are still strong. Polo by Ralph Lauren is a Woody Chypre fragrance for men.
Polo provides uniforms for all on-court officials and ball people as well as a U.S. Open collection of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories available for sale to the public. The collection will feature a red, blue, yellow and green color palette along with fun graphics and colorblocking. It will be sold at Polo Ralph Lauren stores, on-site at the tournament in the 1968 Club in The Overlook and the Ralph Lauren e-commerce site for the duration of the tournament.
This is leafy and dry tobacco rolled up with a bunch of Asian spices just off the ship from Portuguese and Dutch traders back from Malaysia and Indonesia. Italians, Germans and Brits until Polo unleashed this dirty frontiersman like woody monster on the buying public. Do you like warm spice, earthy tobacco, muddy roots, green and damp decaying woods in the late evening just a few degrees above freezing? Polo is one of the few that can truly handle the Paul Bunyan like giants of masculinity on earth without restraining that inner-beast inside.
It was much more of a fresh-pencil-shavings cedar/pine opening and quite pleasant the whole way through. All the nastiness was gone and replaced with a smooth, creamy, earthiness that progressed logically into the drydown that we all know and love. It is green with the smell of fallen leaves in Jungle.
POLO® is a classic symbol of the modern American lifestyle. The Casual Polo Player collection brings a sporty edge to designer eyewear. Ralph Lauren is a designer luxury brand that is more expensive and exclusive due to the hand-made nature of the clothing and the accompanying designs. If you’re looking for shirts, jackets, and hoodies with a more standard feel, classic Polo apparel is perfect for you.
Keep producing just this in that vintage green bottle and I’ll be happy. I’m surprised how little I want to use but it’s because I need to keep this bottle for the rest of my life. Every time I spray it, I think of my friend, and playing with our Star Wars figures Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt back in the day, which is nice. Everyone needs a few anchor-points back to their young and carefree days, and funnily enough, Polo Green has become one of mine from a memory I will always look back on with a smile. Fragrantica is a complete joke at this point.
I really want to re-experience the vintage version of this that all the boys in school wore the year it came out, but it’s so darn expensive, it’ll have to wait. I tried the new version of the original, which is needless to say, very very different. Fresh, earthy, spicy scent wrapped in dried tobacco leaves created for the MAN of the 70’s and 80’s, I used to wear more in cooler summer days. Don’t listen to the reviewers harping on and on about how superior previous versions are . The current version is absolutely beautiful and performs incredibly well. If you want to spend your life trying to chase shadows of a past that is never coming back, that’s fine.
Probably the most classic and the most masculine of all men’s fragrances. I would suggest this for the mature man, 40’s and up. You won’t be getting huge compliments, as a matter of fact the opposite. This is a mature man’s scent and should be worn for personal enjoyment. There will be the occasional person who finds this appealing as you wear it but don’t count on most people to like it.
